Among them, tomorrow will be the heaviest period of this round of rainfall, and from the day after tomorrow, the scope of heavy rainfall will shrink.
The Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that from tonight to tomorrow, there will be heavy to heavy rain in parts of central and eastern Guizhou, southern Hunan, southern Jiangxi, southern Fujian, northern and eastern Guangxi, and central and eastern Guangdong.
From the night of the 25th to the 26th, there were moderate to heavy rains in parts of Xinjiang along the Tianshan Mountains and the Ili River Valley, the central and eastern parts of Jiangnan, the northern and eastern parts of South China, and Taiwan Island.
The precipitation process has certain similarities with the previous round of process, especially the rainfall area will overlap, and the disaster is high, and the focus should be on the central and northern parts of Guangdong.
Since April this year, the central and northern parts of Guangdong have been the places with the highest concentration of heavy rainfall. The accumulated rainfall in many of the above places generally reached more than 400 mm, and in some areas it was more than 600 mm, which was significantly higher than normal.
According to the Guangdong Meteorological Observatory, from April 1 to 23, Fogang, Qujiang, Longmen, Ruyuan, Xinfeng, Conghua, Wengyuan, Yingde, Huaiji, Yangshan, Lianping, Renhua, Shixing, Lechang, Nanxiong, Sanshui, a total of 16 cities and counties of the national station cumulative rainfall broke the local record in April, of which Fogang, one of the centers of the rainstorm, a total of 800.4 mm, more than the average annual rainfall in Beijing 200 mm!
Generally speaking, heavy rainfall in Guangdong in April is not unusual, as it is the pre-flood season in South China, which is also the rainy time of the year. With the outbreak of the South China Sea summer monsoon in mid-May, the "dragon boat water" in Guangdong will reach its peak. However, this year, the pre-flood season in South China not only came early, but also rained very frequently. Since Guangdong entered April, it has been raining most of the time, especially since the 17th, heavy rain and even heavy rain have appeared frequently.
The question is, why is the precipitation so strong in the pre-flood season in South China this year?
According to Zheng Zhihai, chief forecaster of the National Climate Center, there is a clear relationship between the precipitation in southern China this year and El Niño. On the other hand, under the influence of El Niño, the subtropical high in the northwest Pacific has continued to be strong since April, guiding the continuous transport of water vapor from the South China Sea and the Bay of Bengal to the south of the continent, with extremely abundant water vapor, and at the same time, with the circulation anomalies over the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and South China, many heavy precipitation processes have been formed.
So, when exactly will it rain in the south?
According to the medium-term forecast of the Central Meteorological Observatory, in the next 10 days, the rainfall in Jiangnan, South China, the Sichuan Basin and Guizhou will be significantly higher, and in some areas it will be more than 1 times. Among them, after this round of heavy rainfall, the rain will weaken briefly on the 27th, but it will not stop, and there will still be light to moderate rain and locally heavy rain in some places. From the 29th to the 30th, the rain in the south will intensify again, and there will be patches of heavy to heavy rain.
In big cities, such as Guangzhou, the rain will be relatively strong until the end of this month, and Shenzhen will also rain continuously for the next seven days, including heavy rain during the day tomorrow.
