Allergies are listed by the World Health Organization (WHO) as one of the six major chronic diseases to be prevented and treated in the 21st century. According to statistics from the World Allergy Organization (WAO), the global prevalence of allergic diseases has reached 22%.
In order to improve the awareness of grassroots doctors on allergic diseases and correctly and reasonably prevent and treat allergic diseases, on April 21, with the strong support of Ningde Mindong Hospital Medical Group, the "Ningde 2024 Academic Exchange Meeting on New Progress in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Allergic Diseases and Specific Immunotherapy" hosted by the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery of Mindong Hospital was successfully held in Mindong Hospital.
At the meeting, Mindong Hospital took the lead in establishing the Mindong Throat Head and Neck Tumor and OSAHS Specialty Alliance, and held an awarding ceremony. More than 50 medical personnel from Ningde Hospital, Ningde Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ningde People's Hospital, Zherong County Hospital, Shouning County Hospital, Zhouning County Hospital, Fu'an Hospital, Gutian County Hospital, Xiapu County Hospital, Pingnan County Hospital attended the meeting. The establishment of the specialty alliance aims to strengthen the specialty construction of regional group hospitals, strengthen exchanges and learning between hospitals, and better serve patients in eastern Fujian.
At the opening ceremony, Liu Changming, Secretary of the Party Committee of Mindong Hospital, first expressed his warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to the experts and colleagues from inside and outside the province on behalf of the party and government leadership of Mindong Hospital. He pointed out that in recent years, the incidence of allergic diseases has increased year by year, which needs to be highly valued by the majority of medical workers, and hopes that this meeting can provide new ideas and directions for the prevention and control of regional allergic diseases, and at the same time effectively play the role of famous medical experts in the specialty alliance to further promote the development of the diagnosis and treatment level of allergic diseases in hospitals.
It is understood that allergic rhinitis is mainly manifested by symptoms such as nasal itching, paroxysmal continuous sneezing, a large amount of watery nasal discharge and nasal congestion. The self-reported prevalence of allergic rhinitis in 18 central cities in mainland China is 17.6%, and the affected population may exceed 250 million.
Xu Yuanteng, Chief Physician of the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University, He Cheng, Chief Physician of Fuqing Hospital, Gao Shang, Deputy Chief Physician of Ningde Hospital of Shanghai First People's Hospital, and Liang Fei, Deputy Chief Physician of Mindong Hospital, respectively made "Current Situation of Surgical Treatment of Allergic Rhinitis", "Dust Mite Allergy and Diagnosis", "Standardized Drug Treatment Strategy for Allergic Rhinitis" Clinical Application of Allergen-Specific IgE and IgG Detection", which is rich in content, novel in form and practical, has received extensive attention from experts, allowing the participants to have a new understanding of the standardized diagnosis, treatment and management of allergic diseases.
