On April 23, when Jiao Wenqing, a police officer from the Political Work Office of the Xisaishan Public Security Bureau, received a propaganda notice from his superiors and learned that the last fugitive who had committed a robbery and murder on Baquan Street in Shangyao, Huangshi 24 years ago, had been arrested, he breathed a long sigh of relief. Jiao Wenqing was one of the members of the task force for this case, and he still clearly remembers the scene when their task force worked all night to analyze the case and chase the suspect in many places.

In order to bring all the suspects to justice and give the victims an explanation, generations of Xisaishan Public Security Criminal Investigation Police have never given up the pursuit of Li Mouhua, and finally found him in Nanyang, Henan Province, and successfully arrested him.

"This group of people didn't even let go of a three-year-old child, and their methods were extremely cruel and outrageous!" Recalling this case, Jiao Wenqing was still indignant.
On June 28, 2000, a group of five people from Huangmei, He Moumao (sentenced to death, executed), fled to Huangshi to commit a robbery. They were all new adults and had knives on them. They came to the vicinity of the kiln overpass and followed several women, all of whom did not do anything because there were people around.
In the afternoon of the next day, the wife of the vendor Xu Mouxin came out with her 3-year-old daughter to buy fruit. After she picked the fruit, she took out 100 yuan in cash to pay, and was targeted by He Moumao and others. They followed all the way and found Xu's new home.
At about 10 o'clock that night, when Xu Mouxin, who had finished a day's business, was about to rest, these five people came to his house with knives, and one of them deceived the door in Huangshi dialect. As soon as they entered the door, they stabbed Xu Mouxin with a knife, and Xu Mouxin fell to the ground and died on the spot. The wife came out when she heard the noise and was also stabbed by the gangsters. Because she was wearing a wide nightgown, the gangster's knife was stabbed wide, and a knife stabbed her in the ass, and she was fainted in pain.

Thinking that both were dead, the gangsters rummaged through their homes. Xu Mouxin's daughter, who had fallen asleep, was woken up, worried that the child's crying would attract neighbors, and the gangsters covered her mouth with pillows and brutally killed her. After robbing more than 600 yuan in cash, the gangsters fled the scene.
Jiao Wenqing later learned that the gang absconded back to Huangmei after committing the crime in Huangshi. In order to raise money for the escape, they robbed and killed people in Huangmei, resulting in the death of one person.
After the incident, the Xisaishan (former lime kiln) police finally arrested He Moumao and other 4 suspects after unremitting efforts, and these 4 people were sentenced respectively. But the last suspect, Li Mouhua, seemed to have evaporated from the world, and there was no news.
Because Li Mouhua is a native of Huangmei and was only 19 years old at the time of the crime, the police have visited Huangmei, Jiangxi, Shanghai and other places many times to investigate, but have failed to find clues about Li Mouhua. Limited by the conditions of that year, the pursuit of Li Mouhua was in a predicament, and there was no substantial progress.

As spring turns to autumn, the years fly by, and the people's policemen who once participated in the special case group gradually retire and are transferred, and batch after batch of young policemen come to the Criminal Investigation Brigade of the Xisaishan Public Security Bureau. The personnel are changing, but the investigation of the case has never stopped, and the pursuit of Li Mouhua has never stopped. The Xisaishan Criminal Investigation Police always had one thought, that is, to catch this last suspect and give the victim a perfect explanation.
When the time came to January 2024, the Xisaishan Public Security Bureau launched a homicide operation, and Wang Jianqun, the current captain of the Criminal Investigation Brigade of the Xisaishan Public Security Bureau, immediately set up a special team to investigate this case that spanned 24 years.
Not long after the establishment of the special task force, police officer Qin Wei found that a man who had appeared in Danjiangkou City was similar to Li Mouhua in the case file that year, and it was suspected that he was Li Mouhua, who had been absconding. Faced with this clue, Wang Jianqun immediately demanded that the investigation work be carried out quickly and not let go of any suspicious information.
Subsequently, Qin Wei rushed to Danjiangkou City to carry out a survey and squatting, and found that the man called himself "Zheng Hua" to the outside world, but he did not have any household registration information in the public security organs. After investigation and confirmation, the police confirmed that the man named "Zheng Hua" was the suspect Li Mouhua, who was suspected of robbery and intentional homicide 24 years ago.
However, at this time, Li Mouhua was not in Danjiangkou City, and Cai Jinfa, the policeman who was in charge of the case, immediately tracked Li Mouhua. Finally, the police found that Li Mouhua now lives in Nanyang, Henan Province, and is running a canopy installation shop.
"Li Mouhua, we are the Huangshi police in Hubei, do you know why we came to look for you?" At about 4 o'clock in the afternoon on January 19 this year, Cai Jinfa and other police officers came to Nanyang and met Li Mouhua.
"I know, the robbery and murder case 24 years ago, it should have come or it will come. In the face of the arriving Huangshi police, Li Mouhua behaved very calmly and did not resist anything.
Subsequently, the police escorted Li Mouhua back to Huangshi overnight.

Faced with the questioning of the police, Li Mouhua confessed to the crime of robbery and intentional homicide 24 years ago. Li Mouhua confessed that at the invitation of his classmates, he came to Huangshi and followed several of them to commit crimes. After the incident, several of them fled Yellowstone in a hurry. Li Mouhua was very frightened when he learned that his accomplices had been arrested in Jiangxi, and then fled to Neijiang City, Sichuan Province to hide.
During the absconding, Li Mouhua did not dare to use his ID card, as long as he heard the siren, he was terrified. A year later, Li Mouhua fled to Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, during which he picked up an ID card of a person named "Zheng Hua" and used it to live. In order to survive, he got a job in a factory in Dongguan City.
In 2004, Li Mouhua met a Henan woman in Dongguan, and the two began to talk about friends. But when the woman asked Li Mouhua to provide an ID card to register the marriage, Li Mouhua always made a perfunctory excuse, claiming that he was an orphan and had no household registration. Thinking that he had a hand disability, and that his family affairs depended on Li Mouhua, and seeing that Li Mouhua was still very honest, the woman then agreed to be with him, and returned to the woman's hometown in Nanyang, Henan from Dongguan in 2005.

After returning to Henan, Li Mouhua and the woman got married, but they never received a marriage certificate. In order to make a living, Li Mouhua and his wife started a canopy installation business, and later had a son and a daughter. It wasn't until she was caught by the Huangshi police that Li Mouhua's wife knew that her husband turned out to be a fugitive.
24 years have passed, and some policemen in the special case team have long since retired, and some policemen have also been transferred from criminal investigation posts, but they have not forgotten this Li Mouhua, who has never been brought to justice. In the detention center, when Jiao Wenqing faced Li Mouhua, whom they had been looking for for 24 years, the first thing he said was "finally met". Knowing that Jiao Wenqing was a member of the task force that year, Li Mouhua bowed his head deeply, he said: "In 24 years, I have never slept a solid night, and now that I have come in, I am still at ease." ”
Li Mouhua now regrets it very much, because of his confusion, he ruined many families, including himself. When mentioning his parents and children, "I'm sorry for my wife and children, I'm sorry for my ......parents," Li Mouhua hid his face and cried bitterly. In the past 24 years, in order to escape the pursuit of the public security organs, he has never contacted his family, and he is afraid to turn himself in.
At present, the investigation of Li Mouhua by the public security organs has been concluded, and it is being transferred to the procuratorate for review and prosecution, and the case is being further handled.
