Recently, the "Wujiaochang Street Library" children's reading space was officially unveiled. It will meet the growing reading needs of children and create a new reading space for children and families with children and children. The name "Wujiao Shushengli" was voted by readers online and was taken from "Shushenglang", which means that children are swimming in the sea of books.
At the event, Zhong Fulan, a professor at the School of Social Development of East China Normal University, brought a reading sharing session of "A Little History of Shanghai (New Edition)", and explored Shanghai's Shanghai-style culture, historical changes and urbanization process with readers.
The reporter learned that at present, the children's reading room of the street library has been expanded to 160 square meters on the basis of the original 100 square meters. The library has a children's collection of nearly 13,000 books and 30 reading seats. In addition to the abundant library resources, there will also be a variety of colorful children's reading activities, such as Happy My Family Nursery Garden, Sister Taozi Storytelling, Whimsical Craft Workshop, Big Hand in Little Hand Reading Experience Class, etc.
On the Himalayan platform of the library, the children's picture book reading and classic reading columns also provide the community readers with opportunities and platforms to show, make reading more interesting, and stimulate the enthusiasm of young readers for reading.
Jiang Yinyuan, head of the Wujiaochang Street Community Cultural Activity Center and director of the Wujiaochang Street Library, said that since the first Wujiaochang Street Community Reading Day was fully launched, national reading has gradually become a lifestyle pursued by residents. "By strengthening the linkage with Shanghai Book City, we update book resources from time to time, so that community residents can see their favorite books at their doorstep. Recently, the street library has also launched the "You choose the book, I pay" activity, where residents can choose their favorite books offline in the Shanghai Book City, and then come to the library to borrow them after the street library purchases them.
