Douyin advocates that users record real and beautiful lives, and it is strictly forbidden to use the name of online part-time jobs, online writers, data maintenance, etc., to promote traffic fraud and drain traffic or publish information on recruiting water armies. Recently, the platform has focused on cracking down on the following three types of behaviors.
1. Illegal sale of "high-level accounts"
Recently, some illegal users on the site have posted a large number of videos of "selling Douyin-level accounts", and guided other users to trade through third-party channels by conveying bad values such as "as long as there is a high-level account, everyone can get the attention and enthusiasm of the anchor". The target customers of such transactions are mainly small-scale operating companies, who hope to impersonate followers through high-level accounts to create the illusion of "popularity" in the company's live broadcast room, and use this to gain more attention. Douyin security personnel said that "buying an account" does not bring traffic, and users not only face the risk of fraud of property loss during the transaction, but also dispose of the relevant account after the platform locates the violation.
2. Sell electronic praise cashback cards
Another type of recent violation is that the platform claims to sell electronic praise cashback cards for takeaway merchants, that is, after customers post good reviews, they can scan the QR code on the card to receive cashback red envelopes. This type of account publishes information through Douyin videos to attract merchants to add friends and then go to third-party channels to trade. Praise cashback is a typical behavior of swiping likes and praises, and at the same time, this kind of illegal account also has the risk of fraud of blocking users after receiving money.
3. Malicious accusations and evaluations
The behavior of malicious criticism usually exists in the comment area of hot events, product releases or evaluations, etc., and the water army lays a large number of the same content to affect the real feelings of netizens about the event. Since the beginning of this year, the platform has found that there are a large number of evaluation submissions and comments on brand skin care products on the site, and there is an obvious "homogenization" problem in the content, which has been verified to be released by the water army. The comment area of some electronic products is also a "water army check-in place" for a large number of emojis or untrue comments.
Since January 2024, Douyin has removed more than 80,000 videos disseminating such transaction information, disposed of nearly 10,000 related accounts and devices, and blocked more than one million malicious comments every day. At the same time, the platform continues to run a malicious report filtering mechanism, automatically filtering more than 50,000 malicious report records. For suspected illegal and criminal acts, clues will be handed over to the public security organs.
Douyin Security will continue to crack down on "online trolls", and if users find similar violations on the platform, they can report them on the site or send details to the report mailbox.
