This classic, which made director Yang Jie work hard for 6 years, made many actors popular.
Among them, the teacher Zuo Dajun, who plays Guanyin Bodhisattva, has made many people think that she is really Guanyin because of her superb acting skills.
During the filming process, many things happened to the crew, some of which were elusive, and the real teacher Zuo Daxue also chose to convert to Buddhism.
How to explain the bizarre things that happened in the crew? Is Teacher Zuo Dajun really the Bodhisattva that people say is alive?
There were many "strange things" during the shooting
Although the 86 version of Journey to the West only has 25 episodes, it took 6 years, and in these 6 years, the whole crew trekked through mountains and rivers, crossed mountains and mountains, and truly went through 9981 difficulties like learning scriptures from the west, and walked through the north and south of the motherland.
During the filming of "Journey to the West", every time I went to Mr. Zuo Daxue's role, there would be some strange things that were difficult to explain.
Because of the changeable weather, the crew will always pause the filming schedule because of rainy days.
But every time Teacher Zuo Dajun appears, the rain will stop, and the rain will continue to fall when Teacher Zuo Dajun's shooting is over.
Just one time doesn't explain anything, maybe it's just a coincidence? But one after another things made the crew sigh "It's really strange".
Once, the filming progress of the crew was stalled by successive heavy rains, but on the day of Mr. Zuo Dajue's play, the sun turned on for a day, and then it began to be cloudy again.
And it just so happened that their role that day was that they needed the sun, and they were still worried about how to shoot this scene, but they didn't expect it to be so easy.
Coincidentally, there was another time when I was filming in Wuyi Mountain, and I encountered a rainy day again, when Mr. Zuo Dajun was putting on makeup at the filming site of the crew, but the rain did not stop.
Just after Teacher Zuo Daxue finished putting on her makeup, the sky immediately cleared! After the filming of the scene, the rain began to fall again as before.
After a series of inexplicable "strange things" happened, the heart of Teacher Zuo Daxue, who did not believe in Buddhism, also began to waver.
The role of "Guanyin" is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people
After Zuo Dajun decided to star in "Journey to the West", he began months of preparation.
In order to play Guanyin vividly and appropriately, Mr. Zuo Daxue wore a costume to climb over famous mountains, visited large temples, visited tens of thousands of Guanyin Buddha statues, and learned more about the historical background of Guanyin.
Many locals saw Teacher Zuo Daxue wearing Guanyin costumes with their mouths open and sighed "Bodhisattva is alive" and "Guanyin descends to earth".
Because it was an era of closed news and superstition, everyone was naturally amazed when they looked at Teacher Zuo Dajue, who looked so much like Guanyin.
Under everyone's word of mouth, many people are convinced that Teacher Zuo Dajun is Guanyin.
Zuo Dajun explained many times that he was not Guanyin, but everyone only felt that this was the will of God and could not be known to mortals, so he was more convinced.
In order not to spoil everyone's interest, Teacher Zuo Dajun had to nod and agree.
After the broadcast of "Journey to the West", as expected, the image of Guanyin played by Zuo Daxue is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, and many people think that this is Guanyin.
Before Mr. Zuo Dajun played Guanyin, everyone's understanding of the image of Guanyin only stayed on the Buddha statue, and even the faces of many Buddha statues Guanyin were damaged and blurred, so many people did not know the appearance of Guanyin.
But as soon as the Guanyin played by Teacher Zuo Dajun came out, everyone thought that Guanyin was the appearance of Teacher Zuo Dajun.
Many people print pictures and carve statues of Guanyin according to the image of Teacher Zuo Dajue, and many people who believe in Buddhism visit the portrait statues at home, offer incense, and pray for protection.
In such a scene, how much Teacher Zuo Daxue hopes that he is really Guanyin in the world, so that the world can suffer less.
Many strange things in the shooting made many people more convinced that Mr. Zuo Daxue was really "Guanyin", and even Mr. Zuo Dajue himself was very confused.
Because of the "love" of the play, he took refuge in Buddhism
In 1943, Mr. Zuo Daxue was born in an opera family in Changsha City, Hunan Province, his mother was a Hunan opera actor, and his father was a Kuomintang general.
When she was 10 years old, she was taken by the opera teacher, but her mother did not agree with Zuo Dajun to study drama, but Zuo Dajun's attitude was very resolute and sincere, and her mother agreed.
Later, the hard-working Zuo Daxue entered the Hunan Opera Troupe, and was invited by CCTV to perform in 1976, and the role she played was the role "Guanyin Bodhisattva" that influenced her life.
This performance made the great director Yang Jie praise again and again, and after receiving the task of filming "Journey to the West", her first reaction was to find Zuo Dajue, but this was opposed by Li Chengru.
In the view of "Sand Monk" Li Chengru, Guanyin is a fairy surrounded by immortal energy, and he should find some young, petite, and beautiful actresses.
However, Director Yang Jie directly set Teacher Zuo Daxue in a row of public opinions, and the final shooting results also proved that Director Yang Jie's choice was very correct, and the Guanyin played by Teacher Zuo Dajun was simply three points.
After all, there are really few people who can interpret Guanyin so perfectly, the eyes of all living beings, the aura of not approaching people, not angry and self-righteous in the face of "splashing monkeys", and "compassionate" when facing ordinary people, which are incomparable to those traffic actors.
Due to his own experience and the "strange things" encountered during filming, Zuo Daxue later burned incense to worship Buddha and took refuge in Buddhism.

The appearance of gods and Buddhas is because there are too many people and things suffering at this time, and they can't solve them, so they have to put their faith in God and Buddha, longing for protection.
