Recently, co-organized by the Guangdong Hockey Association, the Macau Soft Hockey Association and the Guangzhou Speed Lions Hockey Club, the 2024 First "Lion Cup" Guangdong-Macao Youth Hockey Exchange Tournament came to a successful conclusion at the Guangzhou Basketball Federation Stadium. The purpose of this exchange competition is to use the competition as a bridge to promote and promote hockey, create a communication platform between clubs and alumni teams in the Greater Bay Area, and promote the charm of hockey for the purpose of promoting learning, so as to promote the vigorous development of hockey in China.
This exchange match specially invited national coaches including Lei Aisi, President of Guangdong Hockey Association, Cong Dequan, Vice President, Liang Xue, Secretary-General, Yang Huiping, head coach of Guangdong Women's Hockey, Fan Shufang, head coach of Guangzhou Hockey, and other national coaches to watch and guide.
At the opening ceremony of the exchange match, Mr. Lai Ning, President of the Hockey Association of Macao, China, represented the Macao team, and Ms. Mak Siu Yan, Director and Director of the Adjudicating Committee of the Guangdong Hockey Association, represented the Guangzhou team and the Guangzhou Speed Lions Hockey Club.
More than 100 young athletes, coaches, team leaders and parents gathered together from 14 teams, including the participating teams from the Macao Club of China, the Third Primary School of Liwan School of Guangdong Experimental Middle School, Shawan Experimental Primary School of Panyu District of Guangzhou, Heming Wuxiang Primary School of Haizhu District of Guangzhou, and the Guangzhou Speed Lion Hockey Club.
In addition to a hearty professional competition, this exchange match is also a theme carnival of hockey, so that everyone can not only show their training results, sweat to win, but also harvest friendship and physical and mental growth in the collision and encouragement of the game.
The competition, which lasted more than three hours, was divided into 14 teams, including the lion cub group (grade 1~3 grades) and the lion cub group (grade 4 or above), all of whom actively showed the best competitive level and team spirit since the training, and brought a wonderful duel with thunderous applause to the parents.
After 20 intense competitions, the team of Shawan Experimental Primary School in Panyu District, Guangzhou won the first place in the lion cub group and the lion cub group in this competition, which also reflects their strong strength accumulated in hockey for many years. The representative team of the Macau Soft Hockey Association won the fourth place in the Little Lions group and the eighth place in the Young Lions category. The Guangzhou Speed Lions Hockey Club team won the second place in the Little Lions group, the fourth and fifth places in the Young Lions group.
As a member of the team that was newly formed in March this year to represent the Speed Lions Hockey Club, he also showed his edge and love for hockey, and in such a short period of training and running-in time, he was able to obtain professional-level results, which really made the judges and parents present applaud, and the good results also made the professional coaches more confident in the future of the Lions.
This competition not only provided a stage for Guangdong and Macao youth hockey players to showcase their talents, but also injected new vitality into the development of hockey. Of course, this is just the beginning, in the future, in addition to the Macao team, there will be more opportunities for more youth hockey players from Hong Kong, Shenzhen, etc., to show their style and strength in this arena, and jointly create a sports exchange platform and atmosphere for hockey projects in the Greater Bay Area.
