The number of institutions on the list has doubled

Unlike the design and architecture rankings, which have been published for many years, the QS Art History Subject Rankings will only be officially released for the first time in 2023, which means that the list will be updated for the first time this year.
Compared to last year's ranking, the biggest change in this year's art history ranking is that the number of institutions on the list has increased from 20 last year to 41 this year!

In 2023, 20 institutions will be on the list, including 8 in the United States and 6 in the United Kingdom, accounting for 70% of the total
Among the 41 institutions in 2024, the number of institutions in the United States will increase to 11, and the number in the United Kingdom will increase to 9, accounting for 48.8% of the total

Similar to the trend revealed in the design/architecture list, the number of institutions from niche countries has increased significantly, rising from 20% in 2023 to 43.9%
