With the economic and social development and the continuous improvement of farmers' living standards, the area of new farmhouses is getting larger and larger, the number of floors is getting higher and higher, and there are more and more for operation. In recent years, safety accidents have occurred from time to time, seriously threatening the safety of farmers' lives and property.

In order to implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, in conjunction with the departments of emergency management, natural resources, agriculture and rural affairs, and market supervision, has guided all localities to carry out in-depth investigation and rectification of potential safety hazards in rural housing, completed the investigation and phased rectification of 500,000 administrative villages and 224 million rural houses across the country, eliminated a number of potential safety hazards in rural housing, and effectively prevented major safety accidents. At the same time, we actively promoted the construction of a long-term mechanism for the construction and management of rural housing, and on the basis of systematically combing and summarizing local practical experience, we researched and drafted the "Guiding Opinions".
