While joining the Knicks may allow Durant to fulfill his wish to play in the Finals, and returning to the Thunder could bring his career to a successful conclusion, both teams are undoubtedly now the league's top powerhouses, which in turn gives Durant the impression that he can't beat or join. At the end of the day, Durant's vision of his future with the Suns remains uncertain, and he himself has not responded in any way about his future, but as a player known for his competitiveness and loath-aversion to failure, his next move will undoubtedly be closely watched.
