The first stop of the 2024 Shanghai Youth Sports Elite Series Gomoku Competition (team competition) recently kicked off at the Wending Campus of Huishi Primary School in Xuhui District. The competition set up a total of 10 groups for men's and women's U8, U10, U12, U14 and U18, attracting 100 teams and 355 athletes from all districts of Shanghai to register and compete for honors.

For the U12, U14 and U18 groups, the organizing committee has implemented a gradual second system, which makes the pace of the game more compact and tense, and puts forward higher requirements for the players' chess skills and psychological quality. For the U8 and U10 groups, a lump sum system is adopted, which tests the players' time management ability and backgammon strategy layout.

After fierce competition, the athletes of Xuhui finally entered the top eight with their outstanding performance and excellent chess skills. Among them, the players of the U8 men's, U10 men's and U12 men's groups won the championship and the second place in one fell swoop, showing the strong strength of Xuhui Gomoku. The U10 women's, U12 women's and U18 men's players also lived up to expectations, stood out from the encirclement, won the first place, and won honor for the Xuhui delegation.

In this team competition, the Xuhui delegation continued to maintain its leading position, winning a total of six gold medals, seven silver medals and one bronze medal!
