In the recently completed Changning District Comprehensive and Strict Management of the Party Warning Education Base (West Hall) and Shanglian Xinjing Warning Education Base, 10 integrity-themed artworks carefully created by Hua Xingfu, the representative inheritor of Shanghai's intangible cultural heritage Shanghai-style tearing paper, were publicly unveiled. These works vividly convey the profound connotation of clean and honest air in a unique art form.
These 10 paper-tearing works titled "Taste Intangible Cultural Heritage and Cultivate a Clean and Healthy Atmosphere" contain positive praises of honest family style, such as "Honest Home", "Promoting Honest Style", "Good Cadres in the New Era", "Buckle the First Button in Life", etc., as well as "Anti-corruption Investigation to the End", "Two-faced People", "Insatiable Greed" and so on. The themes of the works are distinct and interrelated, forming a complete sequence, which is intended to advocate integrity and oppose corruption.
It is understood that from the conception, the draft to the design color, and then to the final draft of the accompanying text, every link has been poured into the ingenuity of Huaxingfu. He skillfully uses cultural elements such as "lotus", "button" and "incorruptible" to create an image of clean and honest air, and enhances the impact of the picture through elements such as "fist", "bao qingtian" and "greed", which plays a warning and educational role. For example, "Inseparable" cleverly combines the word "greed" into a human figure, and expresses "merit and waste in greed" in the form of exaggerated cartoons, which is easy to understand and thought-provoking.
"Buckle the first button in life" is a metaphor for the common "button" in life, which extends to the warning education of integrity, with profound implications. Huaxingfu hopes that people will start from themselves, start from small things, lead by example, inherit the excellent traditional Chinese culture, advocate a clean and honest family style, and make clean and healthy atmosphere a part of life.
Through these works, Hua Xingfu not only shows the charm of the art of tearing paper, but also makes the concept of clean and honest deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. Hua Xingfu said that this is the intangible charm of intangible cultural heritage, and it is also the responsibility of artists.
