"The future of the automotive industry is defined by three trends: electrification, digitalization and sustainability. The new generation of BMW models combines these core innovations and represents the beginning of a new product range for the BMW brand. ”

The new generation marks another major leap forward in BMW's technological innovation, integrating the sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology with cylindrical battery cells, the first-of-its-kind BMW panoramic vision bridge, a new E/E architecture and an advanced "domain control" design, bringing a new driving experience from electric technology to human-machine interaction and a new electronic architecture.

For MINI, the addition of the new electric model not only inherits the brand's classic elements, but also introduces new connotations of high digitalization and electrification, such as the circular OLED instrument cluster, which appeared for the first time in the automotive industry, and reinvents the driving pleasure with a lower center of gravity, more extended four wheels, and faster power delivery, etc., the design and technology of the new model demonstrate the innovative spirit and unique personality of the MINI brand.

In addition, BMW plans to bring more than 20 new or upgraded BMW and MINI models to Chinese consumers in 2024, including the world premiere of the new all-electric BMW i4, further enriching the BMW brand's product lineup.

In fact, the BMW Group was one of the first pioneers in the world to devote itself to the field of electric vehicles, as early as the 1972 Munich Olympics BMW presented its prototype of electric vehicles, the BMW 1602e, to demonstrate the possibilities of electric vehicle technology. In 2008, BMW launched Project i, an R&D project focused on sustainable mobility solutions, marking the start of BMW's electrification strategy.

The BMW Group has been investing in electric vehicles for more than 50 years, and its continuous technological innovation and progress have helped the BMW Group achieve leading market results. Last year, for example, the BMW Group delivered more than 2.55 million new vehicles in the global market, of which 375,000 were pure electric models, achieving the target of about 15% of the Group's total sales as planned, and in China, BMW also delivered nearly 100,000 BMW brand pure electric vehicles.
