Fujian Daily, New Fujian Client, April 25 (Reporter Chen Shengzhong) Recently, the No. 13, No. 14 and No. 15 berths in the Luoyu operation area of Dongwu Port Area of Meizhou Bay Port were approved by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission.

With an investment of more than 2.6 billion yuan, the three-berth project in Soochow Port Area was approved by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission

According to the approval, the three berth projects are all constructed by Fujian Luoyu Port Development Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Putian Port Group, of which: No. 13 berth plans to build one 70,000-ton bulk cargo berth and corresponding supporting facilities, with a design annual capacity of 5.5 million tons and an estimated total investment of 697.72 million yuan, and No. 14 and No. 15 berths plan to build two 70,000-ton bulk cargo berths and corresponding supporting facilities, with a design annual capacity of 9.6 million tons and an estimated total investment of 1,947,518,200 yuan.

The construction of the above-mentioned berth project will help improve the specialized transportation network of coal and iron ore on the southeast coast of the mainland, promote the intensive and large-scale construction of the Luoyu operation area, enhance the comprehensive competitiveness of bulk cargo transportation in Meizhou Bay Port, and meet the needs of industrial development in Taiwan's transit and hinterland such as Fujian, Jiangxi and Hunan.

It is reported that the Dongwu Port Area of Meizhou Bay Port is composed of three operation areas of Dongwu, Luoyu and Panyu and Meizhou Island operation points, with a total of 11 kilometers of wharf shoreline planned and 38 berths (including 37 deep-water berths of more than 10,000 tons), forming a comprehensive passing capacity of 111.48 million tons. The port area focuses on the development of bulk dry bulk transportation such as coal and ore, taking into account the development of LNG, grain and tourist passenger transport, and gradually develops into a comprehensive core port area serving the port industry and undertaking the transshipment of bulk dry bulk cargo in the central and western regions and the southeast coast.
