Article 38 of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates that vehicles and pedestrians shall pass in accordance with traffic signals; when there is an on-site command of the traffic police, they shall pass according to the command of the traffic police; and on roads without traffic signals, they shall pass under the principle of ensuring safety and smooth traffic.
Article 62 of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates that pedestrians passing through intersections or crossing roads shall take pedestrian crossings or street crossing facilities; when passing through crosswalks with traffic lights, they shall pass according to the traffic signal instructions; and when crossing roads without traffic lights or pedestrian crossings, or crossing roads without street crossing facilities, they shall pass after confirming safety.
Article 89 of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates that pedestrians, passengers, and non-motorized vehicle drivers who violate road traffic safety laws and regulations on road traffic shall be given a warning or fined not less than 5 yuan but not more than 50 yuan.
