Russia's latest war reports show heavy fighting in the village of Novokalinov on the northern flank of the village of Ochheretine, and Russian forces continue to expand their control over parts of the settlement on the eastern flank. At present, the Russian army has controlled about 70% of the defensive positions of the Ukrainian army in the village of Ochretinye. What is confronting the Russian army is the remnants of the 47th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian army, which has retreated from the north of Avadiivka. Due to serious attrition, the 47th Brigade was originally planned to withdraw to the rear for reorganization, but during the retreat, it was temporarily ordered to take over the Ukrainian 115th Brigade to take over the defense of the village of Ochretny.

The village of Ochredine is located on a small high ground and is the center of the new defense line built by the Ukrainian army on the western outskirts of Avadiivka after the crushing defeat in the Battle of Avadiivka. European media reported that Russian forces took control of the center of the town of Ochretine and that Ukrainian forces continued to retreat towards the Altcom brickyard and northern neighborhoods. The situation at the front is deteriorating at an accelerated pace, and not so long ago it was unimaginable. Its fall will seriously endanger any Ukrainian positions south of Ochretine. In fact, the Russian army did not wait to completely take the heights of the village of Ochredine, but actively expanded the results on both sides of the heights.

By late April 24, the commandos of the Russian separate special battalion "Arbat" and the 15th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian 2nd Army were in full control of the village of Novobakhmutivka (northwest of Avadiivka), south of Ochretine. Subsequently, the battle for the village of Solovyovo began. On the same day, in the village of Novokalinov, on the northern flank of the village of Ochredine, the Russian army continued to expand its control over part of the area on the eastern side of the village. This meant that the entire line of defense, with the village of Ochredine as its core, was in a state of collapse.

The culprit behind this passive situation is believed to be the 115th Ukrainian Mechanized Brigade, which was previously responsible for defending the village of Ochretyne. Ukrainian analysts believe that the 115th brigade is fully responsible for this. And said, "The brigade command allowed its troops to suffer heavy casualties and losses, and often ignored some obvious problems, emphasizing to the outside world that the village is still in the hands of the Ukrainian army and that the Russian army has not broken through to the center of the village. As a result, the command of the Ukrainian army misjudged the situation. Moreover, the remnants of the 115th Brigade finally retreated without permission, giving the Russian army a chance to break through.

However, in fact, the Ukrainian 115th Brigade is the defensive unit with the strongest fighting will among all the surrounding Ukrainian army units. The strategic heights they defended (the village of Ocheredine) were subjected to massive bombardment by hundreds of FAB-500-54 giant bombs and RAB-500 cluster bombs of the Russian Air Force, and almost all of them were wiped out, and there were not many remnants of the people who finally fled. Compared with the surrounding Ukrainian army, which is about to collapse, the 115th Ukrainian Brigade can be regarded as worthy of Syrsky's trust, but someone always has to take the blame for such a serious defeat.
