In order to further implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech on inspecting Tianjin and the important requirements of the "Four Texts", and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on promoting national reading and building a scholarly society, on the occasion of the 29th "World Book Day", the Binhai New Area Women's Federation actively responded to the Municipal Women's Federation's "National Reading Leader Program", and held the theme of "Youth Aerospace Dream Science and Technology Power with Me" in the Binhai New Area Library, the national family parent-child reading experience base. More than 100 students from the experimental primary school participated in the activity, creating a strong reading atmosphere of "loving reading, reading good books, and being good at reading" in the school, family, and society, and promoting the formation of a vivid practice of parent-child reading "family education club" linkage.
The event invited Wang Yufeng, the technical director of the 518 Institute of Aerospace Science and Technology and the part-time vice chairman of the Women's Federation of Binhai New Area, as the leader of the event to give special lectures to the children and encourage them to work hard.
Wang Yufeng shared with the students the characteristics of the project, the unforgettable "good news and bad news" in the process of engineering development, and then popularized the main structure and functions of the spacecraft represented by satellites to the students through video. Subsequently, she showed the students the typical applications of large-scale deployable thin film structures in space, including thin film battery arrays, thin film antennas, thin film Taiyin sails and inflatable sealed cabins, which aroused the students' great interest in exploring scientific problems. The students exchanged and interacted with each other from many aspects, such as thin-film battery array materials, kinetic energy sources on spacecraft, the influence of the 1/6 gravity environment on the lunar surface, and the site selection of lunar bases.
Wang Yufeng introduced a "origami" technique used in the large-scale expandable membrane structure of the space to popularize science, and led the students to fold inflatable cabins and boats. Wang Yufeng encouraged the students, "In the future, the responsibility of building a strong aerospace country lies on everyone's shoulders; if the youth is strong, China will be strong, and I hope that everyone will cherish their time, study hard, be diligent in practice, be both civil and military, have both ability and political integrity, and become the pillars of the motherland as soon as possible!"
In the next step, the Women's Federation of Binhai New Area will deepen the "Reading + Plan", with different themes such as "Reading + Growth", "Reading + Happiness" and "Reading + Future", targeting minor readers in preschool, primary school and middle schools, with open parent-child reading, leading parent-child reading, reading-assisted parent-child reading, and extended parent-child reading as the main forms to drive families in Binhai New Area, and help promote the construction process of scholarly families and scholarly society.
