Su Bingtian has attracted much attention as the "Chinese Flyer", he once ran 9.83 seconds in the semifinals of the men's 100m at the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games, setting a new Asian record, and became the first Chinese athlete to qualify for the men's 100m final at the Olympic Games.

However, the last time Su Bingtian competed in the men's 100m was back at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene, where he finished in 10.15 seconds in the preliminaries and 10.30 seconds in the semi-finals.

As for the 2023 season, Su Bingtian announced through social media in June that he ended the season early due to physical reasons, and he chose to give up participating in the World Championships and Asian Games.

Su Bingtian later participated in several relay events, such as the Florida Hurricane University Track and Field Invitational in March, Xie Zhenye and Su Bingtian and other four-person team won the championship with a time of 38.99 seconds, and in the subsequent Florida relay race, Chen Jiapeng, Xie Zhenye, Su Bingtian and Deng Zhijian won the third place in the men's 4×100m relay in 38.73 seconds.
