At the event site, the aerospace knowledge competition designed and produced by the students themselves attracted many students to participate. It is understood that this race is to go to the moon as the theme, simulating the design and completion of the lunar exploration mission.
Gao Antong, a graduate student of planetary geology and comparative planetology at China University of Geosciences, introduced that for example, this is the design area of the probe, and different lunar exploration missions need different probes, Chang'e-1 and Chang'e-2 need orbiters, which are orbiters, Chang'e-3 is a lander, and Chang'e-5 is an unmanned sampling return probe, which can return samples to the earth.
After completing the exploration tasks of different difficulties and achieving success, the participants can draw a lottery according to their own achievements, so that students can learn about aerospace knowledge in the process of playing the game.
Huang Qian, an associate professor at the School of Geophysics and Spatial Information of China University of Geosciences, said that through this activity, students can understand aerospace knowledge, stimulate their enthusiasm for aerospace, pay tribute to the older generation and the aerospace scientists who are now struggling, and hope that more students will join China's aerospace exploration cause.
In the Planets and Earth Exhibition Hall of the Shaw Museum, many planetary scientific research results such as meteorite samples, simulated lunar soil, and stone specimens related to planetary impacts allow the audience to immerse themselves in "traveling in space".
Sui Jixiang, director of the Shaw Museum Exhibition Center of China University of Geosciences, introduced that the simulated lunar soil developed by Professor Xiao Long's team for the exploration work of their school has played a very prominent role in the ground experiment stage of Chang'e-5, and there is a particularly rare physical specimen of the core of the crater that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs in the Gulf of Mexico, which is one of the largest impact craters on the earth's surface, and its impact is equivalent to 4.6 billion times that of the Hiroshima atomic bomb。 These make us more intuitively feel that the celestial activities in outer space are closely related to our earth, arouse everyone's interest in space knowledge, and understand that we now live on a habitable earth is precious, and we should cherish our living environment.
