OV50K is a new sensor that OmniVision has mass-produced and commercialized this year, with a 1/1.3-inch outsole, and the biggest highlight is that it supports LOFIC technology.

LOFIC technology, the full name is Lateral OverFlow Integration Capacitor, and the Chinese name is Lateral OverFlow Integration Capacitor Technology. The basic principle is to place a high-density capacitor next to each photodiode in the mobile phone sensor to collect light electrons that might otherwise be spilled due to saturation.

The OV50K achieves an unprecedented dynamic range of 15 EV, which is better than the rival Sony LTY900, which has 14 EV. Higher dynamic range allows for better capture and preservation of detail in both highlights and dark areas, avoiding overexposure or underexposure, making bright areas brighter and dark areas sharper, close to what the human eye actually feels.

In addition, the Mate 70 series will be equipped with the new Kirin 5G chip for the first time and will be launched in the second half of this year. The series will compete with the iPhone 16 series, which was released at the same time.
