Han Zhimo
He is a famous contemporary oil painter, former professor of Shanxi University, master's tutor, member of the Communist Party of China, and former dean of the Academy of Fine Arts of Shanxi University. Han Zhimo was born in 1944 in Pingding County, Shanxi Province, and studied at Yangquan Primary School and Middle School as a teenager. In 1965, he was admitted to the Fine Arts Department of Shanxi University and obtained a bachelor's degree. After graduation, until the end of the 70s of the last century, he successively worked as an artist in the Xiyang County Cultural Center and the Jinzhong Exhibition Hall, and then entered the factory as a worker and secretary, and in the 80s of the last century, he was transferred back to his alma mater to teach. He has successively served as the director and professor of the Oil Painting Research Office of the Department of Fine Arts of Shanxi University, the deputy director of the Department of Fine Arts, the vice president and dean of the Academy of Fine Arts, the vice chairman of the Shanxi Artists Association, and the president of the Shanxi Oil Painting Society. He is currently a member of the Chinese Artists Association, a director of the China Oil Painting Society, a consultant of the Shanxi Artists Association, a researcher of the Art Creation Center of the Shanxi Federation of Literary and Art Circles, an honorary president of the Shanxi Oil Painting Society, a vice president of the Shanxi Fine Arts Research Association, a member of the Shanxi Calligraphers Association, etc., and also serves as a part-time professor and visiting professor of Datong College, Jinzhong University, Luliang University, Xinzhou University, Changzhi University and other institutions.

Han Zhimo is mainly engaged in the teaching and creation of oil painting, and is also involved in comic books, propaganda posters, illustrations, etc. His works have participated in the 6th and 9th National Art Exhibition, the First National Oil Painting Exhibition, the 1st and 2nd National Still Life Oil Painting Exhibition, the National Teachers' Art Exhibition, the Singapore Contemporary Chinese Oil Painting Exhibition, the Hong Kong and Taiwan Chinese Art Exhibition and the Shanxi Provincial Art Exhibition, etc., and has won the first, second, third prizes and excellence awards for many times. In 2010, his oil painting "Dry Rhyme" won the Excellence Award in the National Excellent Art Exhibition of the 9th China Art Festival and was commended by the Shanxi Provincial Department of Culture. In 2014, the oil painting "Mother" was selected for the National "My Land and My People" Oil Painting Exhibition. His main representative works include the oil paintings "Champion", "Echo of the Ancient Plateau", "Yungang Tower", "Spring and March", "Sour Slippery" and "Mother", and he has created and published many comic books, such as "The Secret of the Snowman", "Watching the Money Slave", "The First Airplane", "The Gunshots of Wutai Mountain" and so on.

In 2001, he edited the "School Gardening Series" and "New Century Basic Art Guidance Series" (published by Shanxi People's Publishing House), and from 2002 to 2004, he published his personal painting collections "Into Oil Painting" and "Sketch Vision" by the People's Fine Arts Publishing House and Shanxi People's Publishing House respectively, which received attention and praise from the society and the art world. In June 2006, Shanxi Daily published a long interview article "Han Zhimo, Leading Shanxi Oil Painting with Strength", introducing his growth experience and achievements in oil painting art creation. In addition to insisting on the creation of oil painting, he also devoted himself to the development and organization of Shanxi oil painting, served as the president of Shanxi Oil Painting Society for more than ten years, actively advocated sketching and creation, did a lot of fruitful work, and made positive contributions to the development of Shanxi's art.
