Initiated by the Shenzhen library community in 2016, the "Half an Hour of Reading" activity is held on April 23 every year on World Book Day, with the overall theme of "Taste the Fragrance of Books and Enjoy the Joy of Reading". In 2024, the scope of "Half an Hour of Reading" will be further expanded, and the South China Library Alliance, together with Guangxi and Hainan, will carry out the "Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Guiqiong" five places to read together.
Taking the "World Book Day" as an opportunity and the theme of "Taste the Fragrance of Books and Enjoy the Joy of Reading", the event gathered the strength of 43 common reading points from all walks of life, including the urban areas of Qinzhou City, counties and districts, schools, units and enterprises. More than 11,000 people opened books at the same time to taste the beauty of reading and share the joy of reading.
