On April 23, on the occasion of the 29th "World Book Day", Zhenxiong County organized and carried out the national reading promotion activity of "Joy Reading Exhibition, Scholarly Fragrance Moistens Zhenxiong", creating a strong atmosphere of "loving reading, reading good books, and being good at reading", and helping the construction of scholarly Zhenxiong.
At 10 o'clock in the morning, with the sonorous and powerful reading voice, the event officially kicked off. More than 200 students from Zhenxiong Primary School affiliated to Kunming University of Science and Technology and Jiufu Central Kindergarten of Zhenxiong County, under the leadership of the host, read the "National Reading Volunteer Book" in unison with the volunteers who participated in the event.
The event awarded the title of "Borrowing Star" to the top five readers in the Zhenxiong County Library in the past year, and awarded awards and certificates. Their enthusiasm of "tirelessly seeking knowledge and digging deep into the golden house" has set an example for the broad masses of the people to love knowledge and reading.
As a veteran "book lover", Lan Qun has always been firmly on the "throne" of the "borrowing star", and she carefully took out a worn-out library card from a special cloth bag and showed it to reporters. "This library card has been passed down for three generations, my father-in-law gave it to me, and now I take my daughter to the library every week to return and borrow books, I don't remember how many years I have used it, but it means a lot to me. At the donation ceremony of "Book Ten", more than 5,000 books were donated to five units, including the patrol special police brigade of Zhenxiong County Public Security Bureau, Gaoshan No. 1 Kindergarten of Jiufu Street, Jiufu Central Kindergarten, Zhenxiong Primary School affiliated to Kunming University of Science and Technology, and Linkou Yi and Miao Township. Different from the previous reading activities, this event added a "Insect Painting Exhibition", so that knowledge can be displayed in front of everyone in the form of specimens and pictures. The students held magnifying glasses in their hands and watched each insect attentively, including butterflies, beetles, and grasshoppers...... Everything is so new! They recorded it with a paintbrush, exchanged it for "insect blocks", and brought their knowledge home.

With the deepening of reading services, reading for all is becoming a trend. It is understood that in 2023, more than 182 reading activities will be held in Zhenxiong County, more than 14,000 books will be circulated in the county library, and various reading efficiency indicators such as the click-through rate of the digital reading platform will be at the forefront of the city's county libraries. Up to now, 262 rural bookstores have been built in the county, realizing the full coverage of all administrative villages, creating a cultural post at the door of the masses, and letting the fragrance of books drift into thousands of households.
