"Grandma, I was arrested by the police for soliciting prostitutes and beating people! You can help me get some money, or I will have to ......be sentenced." At about 11 o'clock on April 11, an 80-year-old mother in a community in Daqing City heard the anxious voice of her "grandson" through the earpiece of the landline at home.
The "grandson" said that he was arrested by the police in other places, and he did not want to be sentenced, so he had to take 80,000 yuan to "settle the matter", and he could not let his parents know about it, so he asked the "grandmother" for help. The "grandson" repeatedly instructed the "grandmother" to go to the bank immediately to withdraw the money, then put it in a black plastic bag, and let a friend pick it up after a while.
After receiving the call, the huge mother panicked, because her grandson was indeed working in the field. The "grandson" chased after her tightly, and she couldn't let her son know, so she hurriedly went to the bank to withdraw 40,000 yuan and handed it to the man who came downstairs to withdraw the money. After the money was withdrawn, she soon called again, and the "grandson" told her to hurry up and prepare the rest of the money and call someone to pick it up immediately. After discovering the abnormality, Dang Niang called the police.
After careful deployment, the police arrested the two suspects in an apartment at about 15 o'clock that day. It only took 3 hours to crack the fraud case and recover the defrauded funds for the elderly.
"Sun Tzu" was arrested for beating people
At about 17 o'clock on March 22, 2024, the Beisijiazi Police Station of the Public Security Bureau of Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province received a report from Uncle Guo, a resident of the jurisdiction, that someone pretended to be his grandson and called to say: He injured someone after drinking, and now he is being dealt with by the public security organs, and 40,000 yuan is needed for mediation, and there will be classmates who will go to the house to withdraw money in the afternoon.
In the afternoon of the same day, a man claiming to be Uncle Guo's grandson took 40,000 yuan by the bridge outside the village.
After receiving the report, the police handling the case finally locked the true identity of the suspect through meticulous investigation and investigation, and arrested the suspects Wang, Zhou, and Yang.
Chaoyang County police revealed that in just 6 days from March 22 to March 27, they arrested 9 suspects who pretended to be their grandson to defraud.
"Grandson" abortion costs money
On March 15, 2024, the Hangzhou Yuncheng Public Security Bureau received a group of people to call the police: someone claimed to be the grandson of the victim, who had a relationship with a woman at school and caused the other party to become pregnant, and asked the victim for money to have a fetus, and the victim was defrauded of 30,000 yuan. After receiving the report, the police immediately launched an investigation, and according to the clues they had, they quickly attacked and successfully arrested the suspect Deng Moubao.
Coincidentally, on March 20, the Yuncheng Public Security found in their work that someone pretended to be Yu Moude, the grandson of an old man, and committed fraud through telephone contact, and finally the old man was defrauded of 10,000 yuan in cash.
After research and analysis, the police found that the fraud methods of the above two cases were highly similar, and it was suspected that they were committed by the same gang, so they launched a joint investigation, and quickly grasped the pattern and whereabouts of the fraudsters. On March 20, the police divided into two routes, successively arrested the suspect Chen Mou involved in fraud in Yuncheng District, and successfully arrested the suspects Liu Mouhai and Li Moutong in Huazhou City, Maoming.
At present, the four suspects who pretended to be "Sun Tzu" have been criminally detained in accordance with the law, and a total of 60,000 yuan has been recovered, and the case is being further excavated and expanded.
Routine analysis
According to the suspect's confession, the fraud scheme of impersonating "Sun Tzu" is as follows:
1. Pretend to be a grandson and ask for help urgently. Fraudsters usually pretend to be grandchildren who are not with the elderly, and create tension through the phone with emergencies such as "I injured someone" and "I was caught in an accident", so that the elderly are nervous and anxious and neglect to distinguish the authenticity;
2. If you request a transfer, you must keep it confidential. Fraudsters ask for cash in the name of "security deposit", "compensation" and "medical expenses", and use serious consequences such as "dropping out of school" and "going to jail" to make the elderly afraid and worried, and at the same time "worry about being scolded" and "affecting their studies and reputation", and ask the elderly to keep their families confidential.
3. The fraud was successful and disappeared without a trace. As soon as the money is taken from the elderly, the fraudsters immediately cut off all contact and disappear without a trace. Due to information blockage, slow response and other reasons, many elderly people fail to realize that they have been deceived in time and miss the opportunity to save their losses.
