On April 24, the reporter learned from the Municipal Water Conservancy Bureau that the feasibility study report of the Guxi River Dangtu Gate Hub Project in Ma'anshan City has been officially approved by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, which has created favorable conditions for the early start of construction of the project.

The Guxi River Dangtu Gate Project is one of the major control projects proposed in the "Shuiyang River, Qingyi River and Zhanghe River Basin Flood Control Planning Report (Revised in 2001)", and the task of the project construction is to focus on irrigation and water supply, navigation, and improvement of the water ecological environment, taking into account the comprehensive utilization of flood control. The project gate site is located near Jinzhuguan at the mouth of Guxi River in Dangtu County, about 1.5km away from the estuary.
The engineering class is Class II., which is a large (2) type project. The main building level of the control lock part is 2 class, the secondary building is 3 class, and the ship lock is class III. The estimated total investment of the project is 1.832 billion yuan, and the total construction period is 34 months.
After the completion of the project, the capacity of the river and lake reservoir will be about 670 million cubic meters, which will improve the irrigation area of Anhui and Jiangsu by about 910,000 mu, and can further improve the irrigation and water supply guarantee level in the lower reaches of the three rivers basin (Shuiyang River, Qingyi River and Zhanghe River), improve shipping conditions, enhance flood prevention and disaster reduction capabilities, and strengthen the protection and restoration of water ecological environment.
At present, the city is stepping up the preliminary design and construction bidding work, planning to submit the preliminary design to the Provincial Department of Water Resources for review before the end of April, and strive to obtain approval in early May and start construction before the end of May.
