According to CCTV news client report, at the briefing, Zhu Jiang, chief engineer of Shanxi Provincial Fire and Rescue Corps, introduced that the office building where the fire occurred was preliminarily calculated, the building burned an area of about 900 square meters, and more than 200 groups of lockers were placed in the area, dividing the indoor space into multiple compartments;
Yongju Coal Industry Co., Ltd. is a private enterprise under Lvliang Dongtai Group, with an approved production capacity of 1.5 million tons/year and a total of 837 employees. The mine was approved to start construction on November 4, 2020, and the merger, reorganization and integration project passed the completion acceptance on June 1, 2021. On October 12, 2021, the Shanxi Provincial Emergency Management Department approved the mine as a Level 2 mine with a standardized management system for safety production. The fire occurred in the joint building of the enterprise, with a total of four floors on the ground, a reinforced concrete frame structure building, with a total construction area of 6,920 square meters, the first floor is a comprehensive service area for workers, the second floor is a staff bathroom, the third floor is the office area for management personnel, and the fourth floor is a dispatch center. The fire started in the bathroom on the second floor.
