Two-way eight lanes and ten lanes are coming!
The Taicang-Changzhou section of the Shanghai-Wuhan Expressway starts from the Liuhe Bridge in Jiangsu-Shanghai, passes through Taicang, Changshu, Zhangjiagang, Wuxi Huishan District, Jiangyin and Changzhou Wujin District, Economic Development Zone, and ends at Changzhou South Interchange, with a total length of about 135 kilometers.
The traffic artery connects the most economically developed areas in the Yangtze River Delta and the most economically active areas in the country, and the existing road section is a four-lane expressway standard construction, which was opened to traffic 20 years ago. At present, its traffic capacity has been difficult to adapt to everyone's travel needs, and it is urgent to implement expansion and upgrading.
The expansion project adopts the widening scheme on both sides of the roadbed, of which about 25 kilometers from Taicang North Hub to Dongbang Hub is expanded according to the technical standards of two-way ten-lane expressways, and the rest of the road sections are expanded according to the technical standards of two-way eight-lane expressways. After the expansion, there are 24 interchanges on the whole line, including 7 hub interchanges and 17 general interchanges.
