The spring breeze is just right, and the fragrance of books is overflowing. On the eve of World Book Day, Beijing Dongcheng Cultural Development Research Institute held a lecture on the theme of "Reading Paintings" - Dongcheng Written by Famous Artists", and invited Zhou Rong, a researcher at Beijing Fine Art Academy, to appreciate the paintings of famous artists, taste the style of the ancient capital, and feel the Dongcheng written by famous artists from an artistic perspective. The event was broadcast live on the Sina Weibo platform, which attracted the attention of many citizens and art lovers.
"Reading Paintings" is one of Zhou Rong's representative works, which lasted seven years and was finally completed. In the history of modern Chinese painting, there is a saying that "Southern Huang and Northern Qi", "Northern Qi" refers to Qi Baishi, and "Southern Huang" refers to Huang Binhong. Based on the works of Qi Baishi, Huang Binhong and other art masters, the book shows the ancient architecture and artistic atmosphere of Beijing in the mid-20th century through delicate brushstrokes and profound insights. The book not only records the aesthetic style of Beijing in that era, but also pays tribute to the traditional architecture and natural landscape of the ancient capital of Beijing. Zhou Rong said of their Hutongs and historical heritage of Beijing: "Dongcheng District retains countless monuments and buildings, and there are endless stories to tell here. Through the most oriental brushstrokes of famous artists to discover the Beijing in the painting, let us feel them with art and heart, study them, and then we will sublimate from the material to the spiritual existence. In this way, it is through this art form that the ancient capital can be remembered, celebrated, written, and remembered, so that it can be immortal. ”
At the event site, Zhou Rong led the audience to explore the emotional stories and artistic essence of the famous paintings one by one, and appreciated the unique charm of the famous Dongcheng, from Yongding Gate to the Bell and Drum Tower, the central axis runs through the Dongcheng District, and every stroke contains rich cultural connotation and artistic value. The audience said that through this event, they intuitively felt the charm of culture and art. In addition to the keynote lectures, the event also included a live interactive Q&A session, allowing both online and offline audiences to have a direct dialogue with the keynote speakers and discuss the culture and art of Dongcheng.
As the core carrying area of the national cultural center, Dongcheng District continues to cultivate the ecology of the "City of Books", and makes reading a part of citizens' lives and an important driving force for urban development by continuously building new reading scenes, cultivating new forms of scholarly formats, and building new cultural advantages. Since its establishment, the Beijing Dongcheng Cultural Development Research Institute has continued to expand the brand effect of the "Cultural Dongcheng" meeting room and display the ancient capital culture in multiple dimensions through activities such as the theme lecture of "Walking in the East City and Opening the Door of Time and Space of the Central Axis" and the book launch of "Pillars of the Nation, Heavy Craftsmen of the Great Country".
