Director Kwan Jinpeng said that whether it is the "infatuated" Ruhua (played by Anita Mui) in "Rouge Buckle", or Ruan Lingyu (played by Maggie Cheung) who was ruined by "terrible words", or Wang Qiyao (played by Sammi Cheng) who "turned a thousand times" in "Song of Long Hatred", these female characters all contain independent thoughts and strong character. A few years ago, after learning that the Hong Kong City Hall, a landmark building with the common memory of Hong Kong people, was about to be demolished, the director conceived the story of eight core female characters reuniting with old grievances due to the rehearsal of a stage play. Fortunately, when the film was completed, the demolition plan was terminated, the Hong Kong City Hall was preserved intact, and the common memory of Hong Kong people will continue to be written. Director Kwan Jinpeng also shared his cooperation with several powerful actresses in "Eight Women, One Play": Sammi Cheng, Gigi Leung, Bai Baihe, Zhao Yazhi, Qi Xi, etc. We look forward to seeing "Eight Women, One Play" to the audience in the near future.

When talking about the current situation of Chinese female creators in the international discourse, she said that female directors must shoot more works, create more diverse and challenging female images, and complete breakthroughs in continuous accumulation.

Ms. Xiong Ying talked about how the image of women under the restriction of genre can be more diversified and realistic, saying that creators must not be able to keep up with the changes in the market if they blindly cater to the audience, so creators must be forward-looking between the market and expression, and constantly guide the audience. Don't set limits on yourself, don't rest on your laurels. Encourage young female filmmakers to promote the diversified image of oriental women to the global film market in the new era environment, so as to realize the global development of Chinese women's films.

During the discussion, Ms. Rao Xueman first reviewed her own experience and thoughts on the creation of "About Winter" and "We Will Always Be Us", and then talked about a significant change in the portrayal of contemporary Chinese women. She observes that unlike the submissive, sacrificial, and fulfillment mothers or female figures of the past, the female characters of today have broken free from the shackles of the past, and they have lived their lives and become more independent. She believes that the key to creation is to be able to truly touch the soul of the audience, and only by insisting on this point of view, whether it is a film from a female perspective or a male perspective, will be successful.

Photographer Deng Lu said that at the beginning of his career, he never considered whether his physical strength could complete the job in the face of fifty or sixty pounds, or even seventy or eighty pounds of photographic equipment, but always had a belief that I could do this job. Regardless of gender, photographers are omnipotent, and female photographers also have a unique advantage, that is, through their own delicate observation, with the help of lens language, magnify the narrative details, and fully demonstrate the charm of film language.

Ms. Song Jia first started from her own work experience and introduced that in many types of films, female characters are not only playing an auxiliary or foiling role, but have a key significance and turning role. After the forum, the NEWHER Honor Ceremony was held. The honor list of the 14th Beijing International Film Festival Xinhe NEWHER Women's Film Unit was announced on the spot.
The first to be announced was the honor of the most commercially promising short film, which was won by "Blind Vision" directed by Dong Xingxing. The award was announced by Feng Wei, and mentor Zhang Mo took the stage to present a certificate of honor.
