Former U.S. President Donald Trump slammed a series of protests on U.S. college campuses over the Israeli-Kazakhstan conflict on April 23, describing them as a national disgrace and blaming President Joe Biden.
When Trump arrived at the Manhattan court on the 23rd to accept the "hush money" trial, he commented on the protests on American college campuses, saying that what is happening is a disgrace to the United States. Trump also blamed Biden for all this, saying that Biden has no compassion and is the worst president in the history of the American nation.
Former US President Donald Trump:
What happened in universities and colleges, Columbia, New York University, and other colleges, is a disgrace and Biden's fault. Everyone knows that he has no information, he has no empathy, he doesn't know what he's doing, and frankly, he can't even make out two sentences, and he's the worst president in the history of our country.
In his comments, Trump went on to say that Biden is not a friend of Israel or the Arab world, and that he is trying to take a middle ground but in fact abandon Israel.
Former US President Donald Trump:
He Biden wants to take a middle ground, which usually doesn't work, but it certainly doesn't work here, what he does with Israel is abandon them, he tries to be as friendly as possible to the other side.
Mr. Trump has publicly condemned Israel's war with Hamas and last month urged Israel to end its operations in Gaza. Trump noted that Israel is losing this PR battle because of images of buildings collapsing and civilians being killed. He also said that Jews support the Democratic Party because they hate their religion.
The growing protests at Columbia University have drawn national attention, and the university announced this week that it will hold classes remotely in an effort to defuse tensions on campus. Students who participated in the protests demanded that the university divest from the companies that profited from the war. Some Jewish leaders have expressed concern about the safety of Jewish students on campus.
Protests at New York University, Yale University and other schools over the situation in Gaza have also attracted national attention. Biden said on the 22nd that he condemned the "anti-Semitic protests" and "those who do not understand what is happening in Palestine." The White House also spoke out against anti-Semitism on college campuses a day earlier.
