Boeing, Something Happened Again! Can the financial report exceed expectations save the bad reputation?

author:Wall Street Sights

Accidents are frequent, and a century-old Boeing has become "crispy"?

On Wednesday, Boeing released its first-quarter earnings report, with revenue of $16.569 billion, down 8% year-on-year, better than analysts' expectations, and the scale of the loss narrowed year-on-year, with a net loss of $355 million, compared with a net loss of $425 million in the same period last year.

After the release of the earnings report, Boeing's U.S. stock opened up more than 4%.

However, Boeing's stock price has fallen 30% so far this year that it is at the bottom of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

From engine fires, emergency hatches blown off, engineers alleging manufacturing defects, to Al Jazeera's revelations that its employees were using drugs on a large scale, and now flying and the wheels are falling off...... or exacerbate market concerns about Boeing's product quality.

According to media reports, at noon local time on April 21, a wheel on the left main landing gear of a South African Safa Air (FlySafair) Boeing 737-800 passenger plane took off in Johannesburg.

After the wheels disengaged, the crew stopped climbing at an altitude of 22,000 feet and went into waiting mode to burn fuel.

After about 190 minutes of flight, the airport ground crew found a damaged landing gear wheel on the ground. The airport informed the crew that the plane was guided back. Flying low over the airport allowed technicians to visually assess the condition of the landing gear, and it was found that one wheel of the left main landing gear had fallen off.

The plane returned to land at 2:06 p.m. with no passengers or crew reportedly injured, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.

Unfortunately, the return of the aircraft for landing resulted in further damage to the rim of the remaining wheel assembly.

In recent months, there have been frequent safety accidents on Boeing aircraft. A similar landing gear wheel detachment accident occurred a month and a half ago, on March 7, a United Airlines Boeing 777-200 passenger plane from San Francisco to Osaka, Japan, took off, and one of the wheels of the left main landing gear fell off, and the plane was urgently diverted to Los Angeles Airport.

Just a few days before the wheel accident, Boeing engineers reported that the 787 Dreamliner had hidden dangers, involving more than 1,000 aircraft, and the Boeing engineer's report letter made the market lose confidence in Boeing again.
