At 9 o'clock this morning (April 24), the press conference of the Shenzhou-18 manned mission was held at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.

Shenzhou-18 aims to be launched at 20:59 tomorrow and return home in late October

According to the research and decision of the General Mission Headquarters of the Space Station Application and Development Stage, the mainland aims to launch the Shenzhou-18 manned spacecraft at 20:59 on April 25.

During their stay in orbit, the Shenzhou-18 astronaut crew will welcome the Tianzhou-8 cargo spacecraft and the Shenzhou-19 manned spacecraft, and are scheduled to return to the Dongfeng landing site in late October this year.

Three astronauts announced

According to the research and decision of the General Mission Headquarters of the Space Station Application and Development Stage, the astronaut crew for the Shenzhou-18 manned mission is composed of three astronauts, Ye Guangfu, Li Cong, and Li Guangsu, with Ye Guangfu as the commander. The crew includes 1 second batch of astronauts and 2 third batch of astronauts, all of whom are "post-80s".

During the Shenzhou-18 crew in orbit, it will carry out 6 out-of-cabin missions and 2 to 3 out-of-cabin activities.

Shenzhou-18 will go up to the experimental device and related samples, and will implement the first in-orbit aquatic ecology research project in China, with zebrafish and goldfish algae as research objects, establish a stable operation of the space self-circulating aquatic ecosystem in orbit, and achieve a breakthrough in the continent's cultivation of vertebrates in space.

Shenzhou-17 is scheduled to return home on April 30

After completing the in-orbit rotation with the Shenzhou-18 crew, the Shenzhou-17 astronaut crew will return to the Dongfeng landing site on April 30.
