He honorably joined the Communist Party of China in 2002 and is now a first-class astronaut of the astronaut brigade of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, wearing the rank of colonel. He served as the director of air combat shooting at the headquarters of a regiment of a division of the Air Force Aviation Corps, and was awarded the honor of first-class pilot of the Air Force for his outstanding performance.
