In the spring of 2004, a campus tragedy occurred at Yunnan University in China that shocked the whole country. It's a calm college town, where students are busy with their studies and planning for the future, and this tranquility is shattered by a sudden violent incident. The central figure of the incident, Magajue, is a student majoring in biotechnology in the School of Life Sciences, and on the surface he is an ordinary, even somewhat introverted young man.
Maccabius's college life was superficially uneventful, and he wasn't the kind of student who would get noticed. His instability and loneliness, as well as his difficulties in interacting with people, led him to develop a state of marginalization on campus. Against this backdrop, it seems that an ordinary semester will pass peacefully, until a seemingly ordinary card game completely changes everything.
The incident takes place during a seemingly ordinary holiday, where Maccabius and several roommates get together to play cards in the dormitory. This was a common interaction between students, but it unexpectedly became the fuse of the tragedy. One of the roommates, Shao Ruijie, got into a heated verbal altercation with Magajue over an argument in a card game. Shao Ruijie's few sarcasm and accusations may have been just momentary angry words, but this was a heavy blow to Maccabius and touched the most sensitive nerve in his heart.
On that fateful night, the atmosphere in the dormitory was unusually serious. Ma Jia Jue's face was gloomy, and his mood sank sharply in Shao Ruijie's few words. "Why are you like this, you can't do anything very generously, and you even have to play a little trick to play a card!" Shao Ruijie's voice echoed in the small dormitory, and the eyes of several other students couldn't help but focus.
