From the past "digging up rivers to hand over public grain" to the current poverty alleviation policy, I have deeply felt the state's concern and support for farmers. However, as times have changed, some people have indulged in pleasure under the protection of policies, which makes me worry.
In the past, in order to pay the public grain, the farmers did not hesitate to get up early in the morning and go to the grain station with a full amount of grain. They have to go through cumbersome procedures such as wheat inspection, weighing, and sometimes even have to face the harsh attitude of the grain inspectors. All this is to guarantee the quality and quantity of food.
However, in today's rural areas, with the implementation of poverty alleviation policies, the elderly enjoy more benefits. They can easily receive their pension, and the government will also pay back the pension money, which is a bonus for them.
However, unlike in the past, some people now abuse the benefits of the policy. They indulge in gambling, alcoholism and other bad behaviors, and their monthly subsistence allowance is quickly squandered. It makes me feel heartache and helplessness.
As a veteran party member and secretary, I know very well that the state's good policies toward the peasants are not easy to come by. However, some people do not cherish or even denigrate the government's policies, which makes me feel heartache and helplessness. How will we deal with this situation if the policies of the past are implemented again?
