At the event site, the teachers took the children to sit in a circle and read the classic classics and picture books together. Afterwards, the teacher took the children to play an icebreaker game, which made everyone familiar with each other and encouraged the children to share the good stories they had gained from reading, which pushed the atmosphere to a climax.
Next, the "book for 'vegetable'" session was carried out. Community volunteers patiently explained the exchange rules to the residents, and called on the residents to participate in the "book" food plan, exchanging idle books for a piece of natural sweetness, and finding a new home for the old books that are idle at home. While spreading knowledge, we can also feel the gift of nature to us, so that love and knowledge can circulate.
The children took out the idle books they brought from home and replaced them with bags of their favorite vegetables, and they were satisfied. Parents also expressed their support for such activities: "This activity is so meaningful, these picture books were carefully selected for the children to buy, and after being idle, they were reluctant to dispose of them casually, so they were exchanged for fresh vegetables, the children have a sense of accomplishment, and we also feel that the original efforts have been passed on." ”
More than 700 books were collected in this event, which will be included in the community picture book reading library and open to children in the jurisdiction for free reading.
