According to Thai media news, on April 22, Thailand's Minister of Tourism and Sports, Ms. Sudarwan, revealed that during the 21-day Songkran Festival from April 1 to 21 this year, a total of 1,926,443 foreign tourists came to Thailand, an increase of 37.54% over the same period last year, creating 90.208 billion baht of tourism revenue.
At the same time, 13,897,988 Thais traveled and generated about 50.127 billion baht in revenue, with a total of 140.335 billion baht in 21 days, higher than the previous estimate of 132 billion baht. From April 12 to 16 alone, 461,509 foreign tourists visited Thailand, generating 21.546 billion baht, and 4,337,848 Thai tourists traveled, generating 16.488 billion baht, totaling 38.034 billion baht.
As for the top 10 foreign tourists, they are as follows:
1. China: 395,830 people, a year-on-year increase of 89.16%
2. Malaysia: 298,263, up 41.62% year-on-year
3. India: 114,330 people, up 27.53% year-on-year
4. Russia: 104,538 people, a year-on-year increase of 19.61%
5. South Korea: 84,539 people, a year-on-year increase of 36.02%
6. Laos: 66,396 people, a year-on-year increase of 43.59%
7. United Kingdom: 60,495 people, a year-on-year increase of 11.31%
8. Taiwan, China: 60,153 people, a year-on-year increase of 58.74%
9. United States: 56,068 people, a year-on-year increase of 10.43%
10. Indonesia: 55,969 people, up 64.52% year-on-year
