In the digital era, the development of new quality productivity is inseparable from the support of "computing power", the "hero behind the scenes". Walking into the National Advanced Computing Taiyuan Center (hereinafter referred to as the Taiyuan Center), the host "Taihang No. 1" is running. Relying on its computing power advantages, national and provincial key projects such as neutrino energy spectroscopy of the Institute of Modern Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and airfoil optimization of domestic dual-channel large passenger aircraft have been deployed and operated here.
Taiyuan Center is a strategic information infrastructure jointly built by Shanxi Cloud Times Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Cloud Times) and Shanxi University under the careful planning and promotion of Shanxi Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government. Adhering to the principle of "the highest standard, the commanding heights of technology, and safe localization", the center broke ground on March 29, 2021, and started trial operation on October 20, 2021, and the construction time of six and a half months showed the "Shanxi speed" of high-quality development.
National Advanced Computing Taiyuan Center Host "Taihang No. 1"
Focusing on the strategic needs of Shanxi's economic transformation, Taiyuan Center is based in Shanxi, facing the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Bohai Rim, and radiating to the central and western regions, to create a national advanced computing center with status, characteristics, leading scale and first-class technology in the national strategic pattern. It has built a one-stop service system of "computing power + algorithm + data", and has built and improved advanced computing service platforms such as earth science, industrial simulation, high-end equipment, artificial intelligence, ecological environment, life science, and intelligent information engineering (Shanxi platform) according to the characteristics of the supercomputing application industry. In 2023, the Taiyuan Center will actively align with the national strategy, and successively initiate the establishment of the "Yellow River Basin Computing Network Alliance" with units in the nine provinces along the Yellow River, join the National Supercomputing Internet Consortium, and be elected as the first batch of governing units of the National Supercomputing Internet, injecting new momentum into development.

At present, Cloud Times is actively building the "Shanxi Hub Project, a National Hub Node of the National Integrated Computing Network", which is a traction and basic major project for Shanxi to actively integrate into the national strategy of "Eastern Data and Western Computing". The project mainly relies on the strong computing power advantages of Taiyuan Center, through the construction of a core storage data center, and the Taiyuan Center to form a computing power base integrating storage and computing, and create comprehensive computing power service capabilities such as general computing power, intelligent computing power, and super computing power for key industries and fields. After the completion of the project, it will further highlight the advantages of "integration of storage and computing" of Shanxi hub, realize the interconnection, optimization and sharing and intelligent scheduling of computing power with the whole country, open up the channel of computing power relief in the east and west, and create a new highland of computing power in the central region.
