Recently, I installed a VOC T5 Pro face visual smart lock for my parents' home, which supports a total of 9 unlocking methods such as 3D face recognition, and can also see the situation outside the door through the built-in IPS cat's eye large screen, which is more reassuring when my mother is alone at home.

Appearance and structural design
The materials and workmanship of this set of smart door locks are very solid, and the overall feeling is very exquisite. The frame of the inner and outer panels is made of metal alloy, and the surface has been electrophoresis, and the matte texture is very delicate. The all-over black color scheme with a tough and angular design style is a low-key and durable type, and it will not be out of place with the mainstream security door.
The outer side panel is covered with a glossy cover, and the top face recognition module contains a camera and a 3D face recognition module, etc., and there is a touch password input area and an NFC card swipe area in the middle. The lower handle is designed in a zigzag curved shape, and the fingerprint recognition module is integrated at the top.
There is a mechanical key cutout at the bottom of the panel, which can be used to open the door when there is no power. There is also a Type C interface reserved next to it, you can find a power bank to supply power temporarily, and unlock it with a fingerprint or password.
The inner side panels, although a little more complex, still maintain a good piece of unity. At the top is the IPS screen component, and the buttons at the bottom of the screen are used to turn the screen on or off. Press the top button to remove the screen assembly, inside is the battery compartment, powered by a custom 5000mAh lithium battery, no need for a No. 5 battery.
There is also an emergency mechanical unlocking knob at the bottom of the screen, which can be unlocked directly in case of no power or emergency. The door handle and the outer panel have the same design, and the position of the fingerprint module is replaced with a button, but when unlocking, you need to put the other four fingers on the sensing area on the back of the doorknob, and press the button at the same time to respond, preventing children or pets from accidentally touching the lock.
The installation process will not be repeated, and when you receive the door lock, you will have the master take the initiative to contact you to confirm the size. This set of door locks can be compatible with most security doors, and the standard lock body basically does not need to be opened or reamed.

A variety of unlocking methods
◆3D face unlocking: VOC T5 ProThe main focus is 3D face unlocking, compared with the traditional 2D face recognition, 3D face recognition is more secure, relying on the face recognition module on the outer side panel, projecting a dense spot of light to the face, capturing the 3D depth information of the face, being able to avoid being deceived by photos or videos, and supporting up to 50 groups of face data.
From the perspective of actual experience, the entry and recognition speed of 3D face unlocking are very fast, and it can almost be recognized and unlocked in seconds, with no delay at all. And in the case of dim lighting in the corridor or the voice-activated light is not bright, it can also quickly and accurately identify face information.
◆Fingerprint unlocking: Fingerprint unlocking is the most commonly used biosecurity authentication method, VOC T5 Pro supports up to 50 sets of password data entry, and fingerprints need to be collected about 8 times each time the data is entered. When unlocking, the thumb is just equipped with a fingerprint recognition module, almost seconds to recognize, and then open the door of the room in one go.
◆ Password unlocking: The door lock supports up to 20 sets of passwords, and the length of the password is limited to 6 digits. The operation mode is the same as the general smart door lock, enter the password and press # to confirm to unlock, and the panel touch operation response is very sensitive. In addition, it also supports up to 32 digits of virtual password, when there are other people present in the inconvenient situation, you can press a few numbers before and after the correct password, as long as the correct password is connected, you can unlock normally.
If the owner is not at home and needs to ask a friend to pick up something at home, or the cleaning aunt wants to come into the house to clean, you can send a temporary password to the door lock through the VOC APP, and the temporary password can be set as a one-time password (it will become invalid after using it once), or it can be set as an unlimited password (you can set the password validity period).
◆NFC card unlocking: The elderly at home often can't remember the password, and the fingerprint is relatively shallow, so it is very convenient to use the NFC card. The door lock comes with four NFC cards, which can be used to unlock the door by entering them into the door lock system. If you lose the card, you can delete the card directly in the door lock settings.
◆ Mechanical key unlocking: When the door lock is out of power or malfunctioning, you can use the mechanical key to directly drive the lock body to unlock, and the mechanical keyhole is located at the bottom of the door lock. Although it is unlikely that you will use a mechanical key on a regular basis, I still recommend that you keep a mechanical key in your bag or in your car in case you need it.
Of course, if you happen to bring a power bank when you go out, you can also temporarily supply power through the Type C interface at the bottom of the door lock, and you can use your face, fingerprint or password to unlock the lock after powering on.
Remote video calling and active detection
As mentioned at the beginning of the article, this door lock was chosen for the convenience of unlocking and for the safety of parents. VOC T5 Pro is equipped with a camera and IPS screen, when someone presses the doorbell button outside, the screen on the inner side panel will be an outdoor picture, you can clearly see the visitor and the outdoor situation, and then judge whether to open the door. Especially if the elderly or children are alone at home, this function is really useful.
If the VOC APP is installed on the mobile phone, when someone rings the doorbell, it will also push a reminder to the mobile APP, and you can also see the outdoor situation on the mobile phone, and you can make remote video calls, such as telling the takeaway brother to put the takeaway at the door, etc. What's more intimate is that it provides several voice change effects, which women or children can use to confuse criminals when they are at home. After the video intercom confirms the identity of the other party, you can also directly remotely authorize unlocking in the APP.
The picture above shows the imaging effect of the camera in different light environments, and the light in the corridor of the old community of my parents' house is relatively dark, so there is more noise in the picture, but it does not prevent the identification of visitors. At night, when the light is low, infrared night vision mode is also supported.
In addition to video conversations, the camera outside the door can also play a role in active detection, which is equivalent to installing another smart camera. When someone passes by outside the door and stays for a long time, it will trigger its active detection, record a video in the background, and push a warning message to the owner's mobile APP. Even if I don't go home, I can always know how safe my parents are at home. In addition, you can also view the unlocking record of the door lock in the VOC APP, including when and which user unlocks the lock in which way, all of which are recorded clearly.
In terms of physical security, this door lock has also done a lot of design. There is an anti-pry switch on the back of the outer side panel, and the sensor will pop up when the door lock is brutely pried open, triggering an alarm. In addition, its lock body has multiple built-in sensors, which can accurately perceive the status of the door lock, such as forgetting to close the door after going out, or closing the door without force, resulting in the door being empty, etc., there will be prompts. The lock cylinder is also a Class C lock cylinder with a high security level.

Taking advantage of the installation of this set of door locks, I also went back to my hometown to live for a while, and from the feedback of my parents, they are still very satisfied. You don't need to bring a key when you go out, and it is convenient and safe to unlock with face, fingerprint, password or NFC, and when someone visits, you can also see the situation outside the door through the indoor screen, which is also more secure.
