This sentence means that if you are cautious and solemnly handle the funeral of your ancestors, and remember the deeds of your ancestors, then the moral character of the common people will be simple and heavy. Every year on April 5 is the Qingming Festival, and there is an endless stream of grave sweeping and ancestor worship activities, and in the drizzly spring, all Chinese will remember Du Mu's "Qingming" in their hearts, and once again "chase after the distance".

Du Mu has "Fan Chuan Anthology" handed down. His poetic style is elegant and bold, especially good at writing seven-character poems, and his image is graceful. Du Mu's famous works include "Farewell", "Repatriation", "Qingming", "Bo Qinhuai", "Crossing the Huaqing Palace", "Wujiang Pavilion" and "Red Cliff". Du Mu's famous literary endowment "A Fang Gong Fu" satirizes the imperial court's large-scale construction and disregard for people's livelihood, and is the pioneer of literary endowment for later generations. He advocated the restoration of the government military system, and the literati practiced and commanded the military, and wrote a note on the Art of War. Later generations called Du Mu "Little Du" to distinguish him from Du Fu. Li Shangyin and Du Mu were both famous poets in the late Tang Dynasty, and later generations called Li Bai and Du Fu "Li Du", and also called Li Shangyin and Du Mu "Little Li Du".
In 2014, during the Qingming Festival, I drew four sets of Du Mu's "Qingming" on chalk pen paper, another one in 2019, and in 2023, I wrote the full text in cursive four feet wide open with brush rice paper, and painted a work with acrylic paint on 30 F canvas.

About the Author:
Chen Chiping: Born in 1953, his ancestral home is Xianyou, Fujian. He is good at acrylic painting, and also works in seal script and cursive script, especially cursive script. His grandfather, Chen Kaiquan, was an artist who graduated from the Chinese painting group of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts (the predecessor of Nanjing University of the Arts) and was a protégé of Liu Haisu. His father, Chen Zuru, was a calligrapher and learned calligraphy from his family since he was a child. Chen Chiping's paintings are bold and passionate, full of dynamic beauty.
His works have been published in newspapers such as "China Culture Daily", "People's Representative Daily", "People's Political Consultative Conference Daily", "China Reform Daily", "China Calligraphy and Painting Newspaper", "Collection Express", as well as "Cultural Monthly", "Art Market", "Reader", "Chinese Talent", "Office Business", "China Economy and Trade", "Painting World", "Chinese Art", "China Collection", "Chinese", "People of the Times", "Popular Literature and Art" and other journals, and have been reported by Xinhuanet, China.com, Sohu.com and other media.
