With the theme of "Reading Changning Books in Four Seasons", this year's Changning District Reading Festival brings together the strength of Changning District Library and ten street (town) libraries through the linkage of the main branch libraries to jointly present a series of colorful and distinctive national reading activities, closely focusing on red culture, Jiangnan culture and Shanghai-style culture, showing the new look and new fashion of national reading in the new stage of development of "Digital Changning" and "Most Hongqiao".

In order to better serve readers and advocate the social trend of reading and reading, during this year's World Book Day, Ba Jin's Former Residence and Changning District Library jointly held a photo exhibition "Love of Books: Ba Jin and Books", which opened on April 23 and will last until May 5.
The "Love of Books: Ba Jin and Books" photo exhibition is divided into two sections: "The Joy of Reading" and "The Joy of Collecting Books", showing the indissoluble bond between the literary master Ba Jin and books with precious pictures and words. The "The Joy of Reading" section reviews Mr. Ba Jin's enlightenment and influence from books, learned from his mentors, found the faith of struggle in books, and constantly inspired himself through the dark years;
The exhibition also quotes a large number of excerpts from Ba Jin's essays, hoping that readers can truly feel the relationship between Ba Jin and the book, the feelings for the book, and unconsciously feel the power of the book.
After the opening ceremony, a literary dialogue was held on "Ba Jin's Reading Edge", which was shared by Kong Lingyan, deputy editor-in-chief of the People's Literature Publishing House, Zhang Yesong, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Chinese at Fudan University, and Zhou Limin, executive deputy director of Ba Jin's former residence, allowing readers to further understand an old man of the century who loves to read, collects books and likes to write books from another perspective.
On the day of the event, the high-profile "New Page Study Art Theme Pavilion" was also officially unveiled and started trial operation. This is another milestone project in the construction of smart reading in Changning District Library after the "New Page Study" and "New Page Study: Intangible Cultural Heritage Theme Pavilion", and it is also a reading and discussion space with special themes of art and aesthetic education jointly created by the two-way linkage between Changning District Library and Changning Culture and Art Center.
During the Reading Festival, the "Chinese Dream, Patriotism, and Ambition" Chinese classic recitation activity for teenagers will be officially launched, and the parent-child reading brand "Long-eared Rabbit", which is widely praised by children and parents, will also be further optimized, and a series of activities such as parent-child picture book museum, parent-child lecture hall, "Long-eared Rabbit" into the community, "Long-eared Rabbit" love parade, and "Long-eared Rabbit" love reading will be gradually launched.

Since the establishment of the general branch library system of Changning District Public Library in 2019, the libraries of various streets and towns in Changning District have made great progress based on the principles of public welfare, basicity, equality and convenience, among them, the international reading of Hongqiao Street, the comic book of Xinhua Road Street, the reading alliance of Tianshan Road Street, and the traditional culture and art of Xinjing Town have formed a certain brand, and through the continuous optimization and supplementation of the resources of the main library, so that more readers can participate in reading activities nearby or on demand, truly embodying the public culture "for the people" and "benefiting the people".
