On April 19, Guangdong Unicom's "Kuailata ® Journey" theme event was held in Guangzhou. Analysts from 13 international institutions, including IDC and GSMA, visited China Unicom's 5G Innovation Lab to learn about China Unicom's measures to solidly promote China Unicom's two main businesses of "networked communication, computing network and digital intelligence", and at the same time had in-depth discussions with Guangdong Unicom delegates on topics such as building 5G-A green intelligent network, 5G-A traffic stimulation accompanying private network, 5G-A fully connected RedCap, and 5G-A low-altitude marine multi-domain integration. Hao Liqian, General Manager of Guangdong Unicom, Chen Mengwei, Deputy General Manager, and Wang Jingyu, Director of Science and Technology Innovation Department of China Unicom Group, attended the event.
Hao Liqian said that Guangdong Unicom implements the strategy of the group company, focuses on its main responsibilities and main businesses, promotes the integration of computing and networking, and accelerates the deepening of digital intelligence.
At the network level, China Unicom Guangdong has built 176,000 5G base stations, the largest provincial-level 5G network in China, and promoted the network to extend from land to low-altitude and ocean, achieving full-scene coverage of air, ground, ground and sea. For digital low-altitude computing, China Unicom Guangdong has vigorously built a low-altitude private network, which has covered more than 9,100 square kilometers of airspace and served more than 300 UAV libraries. Facing the marine economy, Guangdong Unicom has built the country's first provincial marine private network to achieve continuous coastal coverage, serving 40 marine ranches, 23 offshore wind farms, and tens of thousands of fishing boats. At the same time, China Unicom Guangdong has vigorously promoted the construction of 5G Internet of Things (IoT) networks, and has built the world's largest RedCap low-cost next-generation Internet of Things with 127,000 stations, enabling typical applications such as industrial Internet, Internet of Vehicles, and Internet of Vision. At present, China Unicom Guangdong has built more than 300 5G private networks, serving more than 1,200 key customers.
In terms of realizing the integration of computing and networking, China Unicom Guangdong has put forward a development vision and goal, allowing users to use computing power services as easily as using water and electricity, and making computing power networks a solid foundation for the future intelligent society. China Unicom Guangdong has carried out the echelon layout of national, provincial, and municipal computing centers, built supercomputing, intelligent computing, and general computing full computing power centers, and built a computing power private network in the Greater Bay Area, realizing the networking and grid connection of major super-intelligent computing nodes in the Bay Area, and has the ability to provide multi-regional, multi-modal, and multi-precision computing network integration. In 2023, we will develop and launch the Haosuan platform to create a one-stop e-commerce service platform for computing network products and applications, and provide integrated services for digital computing and use with "on-demand ordering and out-of-the-box use". China Unicom Guangdong will continue to improve its computing power, transportation capacity, storage capacity, algorithms, and application capabilities, and provide integrated services.
Wang Jingyu gave an in-depth interpretation of China Unicom's strategic planning system, emphasizing the need to continue to lead technology and business innovation, promote the deep integration of digital technology and the real economy, and rejuvenate the digital economy.
Focusing on application scenarios such as the digital transformation of governments and enterprises, China Unicom Guangdong has established an integrated "data processing factory" capability system from data infrastructure, data governance, data circulation, data application to data security, and has been widely used in digital government, smart healthcare, industrial Internet, digital finance and other fields.
In the future, China Unicom Guangdong will continue to strengthen the construction of data infrastructure with data elements as the core, build a trusted data space through blockchain, privacy computing and other technologies, and position itself as a provider of data circulation infrastructure. The transaction circulation of the data chain is driven by the real business scenarios of the industrial chain, and basic services are provided for data circulation and transactions. In the practice of data governance, data circulation, data application, etc., high-value industry datasets are precipitated to provide a high-quality data foundation for AI model training and evaluation. Through the construction of four core capabilities: data infrastructure, data sets, trusted space, and artificial intelligence, we provide customers with integrated services for data and computing.

In 2023, Guangdong Unicom's digital fishing vessel project won the GSMA's 5G Productivity Challenge Award. In 2024, China Unicom Guangdong's 5G live streaming project once again won the Best Mobile Operator Service Award for Connected Consumers from GSMA GLOMO.
