Yuexiu District Library
Yuexiu District Library is located above Dongshankou Metro Station. Walking into the museum, the first floor is a leisure reading area, and the slogan of "Happy Reading and Reading Show" is eye-catching and elegant, calling for a better future of reading and lifelong learning for all people.
There is also an exhibition hall on the first floor, where the exhibition of Yao Xiaoyun's allegorical works is recently being held. The audience follows the footsteps of "Dongshan Meow" and appreciates Yang Ji dragon boats, Guangzhou costumes, Cantonese opera and Cantonese opera, Shawan floating colors, Kaiping diaolou and ...... It can be said that you can read all over the Cantonese style in one day.
The second to sixth floors are the layout of "reading room + self-study area", with a rich collection of books on the shelves, and the spiritual world in the book is even more vast, so that readers are immersed in the fun of reading and enjoy leisure and beauty.
In Dongshan, there are not only cultural landmarks such as the Yuexiu District Library, but also a "trendy place" where artistic trends such as the "Yifang Dongshan" Cultural and Creative Park converge. Yuexiu District Children's Library
Yong'an Hall, a city-level cultural relics protection unit on the edge of the causeway, is now the Yuexiu District Children's Library, and the only library in Guangzhou located by the river. Today's Yong'an Hall is full of new vitality and the fragrance of books.
The first to fifth floors of the library are the book reading area, entering the library is like being in a fairy tale world, young readers can read classics in the "flower world", think about the world on the edge of the Pearl River, and can also gather with friends in the cute mushroom house to share the joy of reading.
On the sixth floor of the library is the "Park Coffee & Bookstore", where readers can have a cup of pour-over coffee on the rooftop, smell the aroma of beans, taste the flavor, enjoy the aftertaste, watch the traffic of modern Guangzhou, and feel the cultural history spanning 90 years.
"Park Coffee & Bookstore" complements each other with the library in terms of content, and builds a new reading space of "library + bookstore + coffee".
Read more and more, the Maritime Silk Road Reading Library
During the 2023 Maritime Silk Road Cultural Festival, the Yue Yue Reading Bar Maritime Silk Road Reading Hall will be officially opened to the public. This is the first Maritime Silk Road-themed public library in Guangdong Province and the 150th reading space in Yuexiu District.
The Maritime Silk Road Reading Museum is located in the Nanyue Sages Museum, adjacent to the relics of the Maritime Silk Road - the site of "Poshan Gudu". Readers can "travel through time and space" and wander the sea of books beside the living buildings that have witnessed the history of the "Maritime Silk Road".
There are nearly 30,000 books in the library collection on the shelves, involving the cultural theme of the Maritime Silk Road, comprehensive literature, children's literature, etc., with a rich collection of books, so that readers can borrow them at their doorsteps.
It is also a good place for the "self-study party", with independent charging ports, reserved seats, and a self-service borrowing and returning system...... Baiyuan Cantonese book bar
Recently, the Park Garden on Orphanage Road has been reopened, and the "Park Cantonese Book Bar" in the park has also been opened.
Baiyuan was founded in the 20s of the 20th century and was the first independent site of the "Institute of History and Philology of the National Academia Sinica" during the Republic of China. It was the first national research institute in archaeology, history and linguistics in China, and laid the starting point for the development of modern humanities in China.
Located on the first floor of the West Block of Baiyuan, the "Baiyuan Cantonese Book Bar" is the first Cantonese book bar in Guangzhou to be opened in a historical and cultural heritage building, and was selected as the "Most Beautiful New Public Cultural Space in Guangdong Province in 2022".
Walking into the book bar, a strong Republic of China wind came to my face. "Baiyuan Cantonese Book Bar" is provided by the Guangdong Provincial Zhongshan Library as a reader service, positioned as a special theme book bar for historical documents, with a total of nearly 4,000 books. The furniture such as bookshelves and soft seats are all customized according to the overall style of the Republic of China, which is in line with the historical image of Baiyuan, creating a quiet and comfortable reading environment for readers.
