On April 20th, the 6th Songjiang Tomato Picking Festival and "Anxin Cup" tasting and evaluation activity was held in Yexie Town's Green Rainbow Farm. A total of 32 samples of 17 varieties from 8 large-scale tomato planting bases in Songjiang were on the same stage, attracting many citizens to watch and taste.
At the event site, the red, orange, yellow and green tomatoes were bright in color and full in size. Citizens took scorecards in their hands and tasted them one by one around the tasting table. "It's delicious, try it. After discovering the delicious tomatoes, citizen Qi Ruiling enthusiastically recommended them to the citizens around her. On the other hand, expert judges from the Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Shanghai Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center, Shanghai Jiao Tong University College of Agriculture and Biology and other industries comprehensively considered and judged the tomato fruits based on their appearance uniformity, commerciality, taste and flavor.
"The overall level was good. Zhu Weimin, director of the Horticulture Institute of the Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said bluntly that the judges can clearly feel that the gap between high-quality tomatoes is narrowing this year, the planting level of the cooperative has jumped as a whole, and the varieties of tomatoes are more abundant.
In the end, Shanghai Jinlan Fruit and Vegetable Professional Cooperative (Wushe Farm) stood out and won the crown of "Best Quality Award". Six planting bases, including Shanghai Jialu Vegetable Professional Cooperative, Shanghai Zhongnim Agricultural Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Hansong Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., won the gold medal, and six planting bases, including Shanghai Songfeng Vegetable and Fruit Professional Cooperative, Shanghai Daoyou Leisure Agricultural Professional Cooperative, Shanghai Chuxin Vegetable Professional Cooperative, and Shanghai Huixing Agricultural and Sideline Products Professional Cooperative, won the Most Popular Award.
In addition to tomato tasting, the scene also carefully arranged a publicity booth for the major planting bases to display their own tomato and vegetable products, the main venue also combined parent-child, fashion elements to plan "tomato 'Ka Miaotou'", "tomato painting" and other small games, as well as "tomato ice cream", "tomato latte", "tomato sugar gourd", "tomato plum juice" and other tomato theme activities, deeply loved by the children on the scene.
Different from the tasting and selection at the main venue, this tomato picking festival also set up sub-venue activities at RT-Mart Songjiang store. At the branch venue, 8 tomato bases opened a warm "sales championship competition" to guide citizens to compete and interact through prize quiz and other methods.
Zhang Huiying, deputy director of the Songjiang District Agriculture and Rural Committee, introduced that on the basis of ensuring the supply of green leafy vegetables, Songjiang vegetable production continued to optimize the planting structure, deepen the promotion of the "small tomato + green leafy vegetables" model, this year, Songjiang cherry tomato planting area of 331 acres, planting 24 varieties.
