On April 21, 2024, such a tragedy occurred.
The place of the incident was in the horse farm on the sand on the west side of the Yellow River Bridge in Taohuayu, Xingyang, Henan. Through the video taken by netizens at that time, it is not difficult to see that there are people who come to play here, and the venue is very large, and the surrounding grass is overgrown.
I saw that there were red men and green women everywhere in the camera, some riding horses, some driving, and some walking. They are basically sports enthusiasts. While they were talking, no one could have imagined that a danger was brewing......
Mr. Zhao from Xingyang, Henan, he also brought his son over to play.
At first, no one paid attention to their behavior, but by the time everyone noticed them, the child was already riding a big brown horse, and a child was riding a big horse, which was already a dangerous thing.
Maybe adults also think that horseback riding is the same as what you see on TV, heroic. I definitely never thought that there would be danger, but what happened next shocked everyone at the scene.
Not long after the child got on the horse, the horse ran out of control, and the child fell off the horse, and it was fatal that one foot was hanging from the stirrup.
It's dangerous, and the people around me are aware of it.
The out-of-control horse dragged the child, whose head was on the ground, dragged by the horse in the grass. During this time, the child's head hit everything he passed, gravel, trees, and even vehicles.
The head is the most vulnerable place, and the point is that there is no remedy for anyone.
I could only watch the tragedy happen.
At first, the child made a sound that only came when he was frightened. The horse kept running forward, and there were people chasing after him, and it was in this situation that the horse ran faster.
The horse was frightened and ran around.
Everyone is talking about it, is the child not good?
Originally, the horse was running away from the crowd, but then it ran back, dragging the children on the ground. The child's feet simply could not break free from the stirrups.
After passing the crowd again, the horse ran into the woods next to it. It can only be said that fortunately there is this wood, which slows down the horse's speed.
Then the men who were chasing the horses came running and subdued the horses.
The child was also taken off the stirrups, however, it was too late.
The atmosphere at the scene was unusually tense, and the child remained motionless.
The child's parents ran to him and shouted at him, accompanied by the cries of adults, which came from the woods, and it was clear that the child's situation was not optimistic.
He was unconscious.
They sent the child to the hospital for rescue, everyone was concerned, what happened to the child?
On April 22, the local government issued such a statement: After the child was sent to the hospital, the rescue failed. Coercive measures have been taken against the owner of the horse farm involved.
This is the end of the matter, and it is not over yet.
What happened that day? How did the child fall off the horse? During the whole tragedy, did the staff of the horse farm make any mistakes?
On April 23, the child's father, Mr. Zhao, was interviewed and told the general story of what happened.
Mr. Zhao said, "My son was only 8 years old, and he died when he was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment, and the fatal injury was in the head. What he couldn't accept was that the people at the horse farm did not put a helmet on his son at that time. If you wear a helmet, you might be able to save your life.
Speaking of riding a horse with his child this time, he still regretted it. Originally, I brought my children to play on this day, and the children said that they wanted to ride horses, and they asked the price, 50 yuan a circle.
After they paid for it, they put the child on the horse. At first, there was a staff member leading the horse, but halfway through, an accident occurred. The staff around the child were gone, and the child was dragged headfirst for hundreds of meters, his head constantly hitting the gravel on the ground, trees, and parked vehicles.
And so tragedy struck.
The famous collector Ma Weidu said that stirrups often dragged people to death in ancient times, and he said that there were no stirrups in the pre-Qin period, and people would not ride horses to fight.
It's because there are no stirrups that you can't sit still on a horse, let alone fight.
Stirrups began to exist almost in the late Three Kingdoms.
In the Western Jin Dynasty, a number of horses and people riding horses were unearthed in the tombs of the Western Jin Dynasty in Changsha (as shown below), among which the left side of the four horse bodies are molded with a triangular stirrups, but the feet of the horsemen did not step on the stirrups. Archaeologists believe that this one-sided triangular stirrup was only used for getting on horses.
After getting on the horse, there is no stirrup.
Why don't you pedal when you get on the horse?
Because there is a safety hazard, and it is also a conclusion drawn from practice, if a person accidentally falls off the horse's back, and the person's feet hang on the stirrup, they will be dragged to death by the frightened horse.
You can't get rid of stirrups at all.
Of course, in order to solve this problem, riding boots were invented. In the cavalry on the battlefield in ancient times, there were not a few people who were dragged to death by stirrups. All had smooth riding boots, which usually had a pointed toe and a square heel, which facilitated the detachment of the foot from the stirrup when the horse fell. Even nowadays, riding boots are required for formal training competitions.
This is all the experience after the lesson, the experience that countless people have exchanged their lives for.
I believe that this kind of knowledge should be possessed by the owner of the racecourse. In order to ensure the safety of the experiencer, the helmet should also be worn, everyone should have watched professional horse betting competitions, at least a lot of them have been let go in the movie, they wear both horse shoes and helmets.

So for the death of an 8-year-old child, the owner of the horse farm is indeed responsible.
And we adults, as guardians of children, do not let children do these dangerous sports. After all, riding a horse is a very dangerous thing, horses are animals, there are a lot of uncontrollable, especially when the horse is frightened out of control, the damage caused to people is irreversible.
