How to turn the problems that once plagued residents into opportunities to enhance community trust, and how to make the originally unfamiliar neighbors familiar with the guidance of the community, is undoubtedly an important topic in community construction and governance. In recent years, the four villages of Shihua Street residential area has taken solving the practical problems of residents as the starting point, with the goal of improving the quality of life of residents, and leveraged the enthusiasm of residents through self-governance and co-governance, so that residents' lives are more warm.
Petitioners become participants in community governance and build a new pattern of governance
When I came to the bulky garbage dumping point in the residential area of Sicun, the open space in front of me was neat and clean, and the wooden fence of the dumping point was posted with garbage classification propaganda slogans, and everything was in order. Three years ago, it was a messy place. Domestic garbage, construction waste and discarded furniture are piled together, and the storage points are not closed, resulting in frequent scavengers breaking in to pick up and knock on the noise, which makes nearby residents very troubled. Forty-five of the 60 households in the four nearby buildings have written a petition demanding that the bulky garbage dump be removed.

However, combined with the actual situation of the community, the bulky garbage dumping point can only be rebuilt at the original address. Previous measures such as widening the fence and strengthening supervision have not been able to completely cure the problem. Therefore, on the basis of coordinating the efforts of all parties, the four village residential areas invited 32 resident representatives to negotiate together, and finally realized the "heightening, dooring, and roofing" of the bulky garbage dumping point, and refined the responsibility attribution, forming a solution satisfactory to the residents. After the completion of the foundation reconstruction, a new rest pavilion was built on the surrounding vacant land with the funding of the property committee, successfully transforming the former focus of conflict into a bright corner of harmonious life.

Now, the surrounding residents have spontaneously formed a volunteer service team, which has regarded this area as their own responsibility field, not only to stop the random parking scene in the pavilion, but also to actively serve as volunteers, participating in community patrols and garbage classification. Flowers and plants such as tea plum, hydrangea, and February orchid, which were sown by the surrounding residents, swayed in the wind near the pavilion, and the new governance pattern of "co-construction, co-governance, and sharing" blossomed in the residential areas of the four villages.

In the activity room of the four village residential areas, Yu Rongfu, a flower grower, is explaining the knowledge of green plant maintenance to the community residents, and also brought a few pots of green plants that grow vigorously in his home to the scene to show the residents. This is the site of the "Happy Life, Love to Share" activity twice a month in the residential area of the four villages, through various activities, not only let the residents have a stage to communicate and display, but also build a bridge of friendship between neighbors.
Li Ping and Liu Qing moved into the residential area of Sicun in 2011 and 2017 respectively, and they are both from Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, and they do not know each other, but thanks to the stage of "Happy Life, Love to Share", they have performed shows and found that they are actually fellow villagers in their conversations. As a result, they had common interests and hobbies, and they quickly became close friends.
"Some residents told us that they wanted to have a place to watch movies, so we went to the community party and mass center to copy some movies and came back, and the residents selected them and we played them," said Sang Shugan, secretary of the general party branch of the four villages. Now, every Tuesday afternoon, residents who want to watch a movie come to the activity room and wait for the movie to show on time.
In the future, Shihua Street will also actively explore a new model of community governance, while enhancing the sense of ownership of community residents, constantly enrich the content of activities, expand the form of activities, and build a new style of community full of warmth and vitality.
