The overall situation of cases in the courts of the country:
In the first quarter, a total of 11.003 million cases of various types were accepted, a year-on-year increase of 1.49%;
8.748 million cases were closed, a year-on-year decrease of 1.32%.
Among them, the number of successful pre-litigation mediation cases increased significantly (up 13.91% year-on-year) to 2.492 million.
Breakdown of trial enforcement cases:
8.51 million cases of various types of trial and enforcement were accepted, down 1.65% year-on-year, and 6.256 million cases were closed, down 6.32% year-on-year.
Specific categories include:
- Criminal cases: 412,000 cases were accepted, a year-on-year increase of 6.99%;
- Civil and commercial cases: 5.048 million cases were accepted, a year-on-year decrease of 0.55%;
- Administrative cases: 179,000 cases were accepted, a year-on-year decrease of 3.61%;
- Enforcement cases: 2.657 million cases were accepted, a year-on-year decrease of 2.96%.
Regional differences:
The number of cases accepted in some areas has decreased significantly, such as Guangdong, Shanghai, Heilongjiang, Shaanxi, and Anhui;
The number of cases accepted in some places has increased significantly, such as Beijing, Tianjin, Shandong, Tibet, and Shanxi.
The results show that there are differences in the effect of litigation source management in different regions.
The growth trend of first-instance criminal cases:
289,000 first-instance criminal cases were accepted, a year-on-year increase of 8.32%.
Among the top 10 types of crimes, the number of cases of dangerous driving and aiding information network criminal activities decreased year-on-year.
The number of cases for theft, fraud, covering up and concealing criminal proceeds, proceeds of crime, intentional injury, traffic accidents, rape, opening casinos, smuggling, trafficking, transportation, and manufacturing drugs has all increased, with four types of cases increasing by more than 30 percent.
Defendant's verdict:
374,000 defendants were sentenced, a year-on-year increase of 14%.
The rate of heavy sentences (sentences of more than five years imprisonment) was 7.71%, a year-on-year decrease of 0.32 percentage points;
The light sentence rate (less than three years imprisonment) accounted for 86.44%, an increase of 0.46 percentage points year-on-year.
163 people were acquitted, a year-on-year increase of 17.27%, including 72 in public prosecution cases and 91 in private prosecution cases.
Here's the point:
12,000 juvenile offenders were sentenced, a year-on-year increase of 77.67 percent, accounting for 3.12 percent of the total number of offenders, and the heavy sentence rate was 8.50 percent.
