Since ancient times, human history has been cyclical between "war" and "peace". For ordinary people, war is just two words, but since the age of firearms, the severity of war has been constantly refreshed. Veterans know that war is not child's play, it takes lives.
At the beginning of February 1979, the 163rd Division of the 55th Army received the task to participate in the self-defense counterattack against Vietnam. The composition of the 55th Army is complex and diverse, and the 163rd Division under its jurisdiction has strong combat effectiveness and rich combat experience. However, for many soldiers, war was new, and their hearts were filled with unease and fear.
With the outbreak of war, the Vietnamese army's firepower blocked our army's offensive. However, in the arduous battle, our army showed a tenacious will to fight. After fierce battles, the 163rd Division achieved a major victory, killing a large number of enemy troops and showing great combat effectiveness.
However, the brutality of the war also deeply shocked people. On the battlefield, corpses were piled up, the smell of blood filled the air, and flies and ants swarmed on the corpses, depicting the tragic scene of the battlefield.
Not only that, but war has also opened people's eyes to the distortion of human nature. In order to bury the dead, the Vietnamese army buried the bodies in trenches or caves, which caused our troops to encounter great difficulties in the search. The stench in the trenches and the corpses in the caves were unbearable.
However, even in the midst of the tragedy of the war, there were still those heroes who stood up. They are not afraid of hardships and dangers, charge ahead, and defend the dignity and territorial integrity of the country with their lives. Their heroic feats demonstrate the heroic nature of the warriors and add a touch of light to human justice in war.
War is an unavoidable part of human history. Every war is a scar of human civilization, an interweaving of blood and tears, but also a legacy of courage and sacrifice. Perhaps, only by facing the cruelty of war can we cherish peace more and cherish the preciousness of life even more.
