The land contracted by these growers was originally a wasteland that few people cared about. After years of hard work and a lot of manpower and material resources, the wasteland has been improved and turned into irrigated land, and the planting efficiency has been significantly improved.
However, just when they were about to usher in a bumper harvest, they encountered unreasonable demands from town and village cadres. This kind of behavior of "sitting on the land and raising prices" not only violates the spirit of the contract, but also openly plunders the fruits of peasants' labor.
The spirit of the contract is the cornerstone of the social order, and both individuals and government departments should strictly abide by the terms of the contract and cannot change or terminate it at will.
The Rural Land Contract Law of the People's Republic of China also clearly stipulates that state organs and their functionaries shall not use their powers to interfere in rural land contracts or to alter or terminate contracts.
However, in the Kailu County incident, the town and village cadres ignored the law and forcibly interfered with the normal farming activities of the peasants in the name of "supplementing the contract fee." This kind of behavior not only infringes on the legitimate rights and interests of farmers, but also damages the image and credibility of the government.
It is also a trampling on the spirit of the contract. When everyone signed the contract, they all discussed it, and now that the land has been put in order by the farmers, they want to ask for more money, is this appropriate?
