Recently, a traffic accident occurred in Hainan District, Wuhai City, where two cars collided. Surveillance taken from around the scene of the accident showed that one of the vehicles involved in the accident had stopped in the center of the intersection for about 40 seconds before the accident instead of passing through the intersection. Did the driver cause the traffic accident unintentionally, or did he have other ulterior motives? With the in-depth investigation by the police, the secret hidden behind this seemingly ordinary traffic accident has come to the surface.
At about 21:54 on March 24, the Hainan Brigade of the Traffic Management Detachment of the Wuhai Public Security Bureau received an order from the 110 command center that a traffic accident occurred near a factory in Hainan District, Wuhai City, and a semi-trailer caught fire after a collision with a white off-road vehicle.
After the police questioned the driver of the white off-road vehicle and the driver of the car that caused the accident, they both said that they had collided with each other without paying attention, and after the accident, the two vehicles collided and caught fire, and the driver of the car dialed 119 and 110.
Through the preliminary investigation of the scene, the police did not find any suspicious points. However, in the follow-up investigation, the accident police retrieved the surveillance video and found that before the accident, a brown off-road vehicle stayed near the scene for nearly 9 minutes, and then the semi-trailer drove into the accident scene and stopped at the accident scene for 40 seconds, during which the white off-road vehicle with which the accident occurred drove straight into the accident scene from east to west, and collided with the stopped semi-trailer, and the two vehicles caught fire and burned 1 minute later.
Through video surveillance, the police determined that the actual owner of the brown SUV was the same person as the actual owner of the semi-trailer where the accident occurred at the scene. And the two cars actually drove into Hainan District at the same time before the accident. When checking the insurance of the vehicle that caused the accident, the police found that the semi-trailer was only insured with compulsory insurance for motor vehicle traffic accident liability, but one month before the accident, the semi-trailer had additional commercial insurance, and the white off-road vehicle where the accident occurred also had commercial insurance.
On 27 March, the police who handled the accident verbally summoned the driver of the semi-trailer, the owner of the vehicle, and the driver of the white off-road vehicle to the accident squadron of the Hainan Traffic Management Brigade on the pretext of handling the accident, and immediately questioned the three at the same time. In the face of a large amount of facts and evidence, the three admitted to the fact that they had falsified the scene of the traffic accident.
It turned out that the accident was premeditated and organized by the owner of the semi-trailer Wang in advance, and the brown off-road vehicle was responsible for the early stepping point, and the semi-trailer and the white off-road vehicle were responsible for the collision, so as to create a false traffic accident and obtain huge insurance compensation.
In view of the particularity of the nature of the case and the fact that it is no longer a road traffic accident, the Hainan Traffic Management Brigade transferred the three people involved in the case and all the clues and evidence materials of the case to the Economic Investigation Brigade of the Hainan Branch for filing and investigation.
